That said, I tend to use art as the inspiration for a colour scheme but it doesn't have to be too deliberate. For example I had a client who had an assortment of landscape paintings that we wanted to hang all on one wall. Even though there were lots of colours within the paintings two colours that seemed to feature subtly but often was pale grey-purple and green. We added a few cushions in these colours and now the whole room feels very pulled together, but not too 'designed'. Does that make sense? I definitely agree with Michelle to wait until you're in the house before making too many decisions though!
