Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 10, 2013 2:51 pm Hi all I am looking at the window furnishings for our yet to be built house and I would love some opinions please. The questions I have are: 1. the front 2 rooms are across from a streetlight - and I am wondering how much light will get in if I use shutters? does anyone have this situation - and can let me know what it is like for them (reason - I have a streetlight and venetians and had to put up a blockout curtain over the top for myself. in our new home he sleeps a lot better than I do - but I don't want it lit up like a beacon 2.I am considering bifolds on 2 stacker doors. has anyone done this and regretted it? 3. what is easier to manage over a bathtub - shutters or venetians? 4. for the ensuite I have a skinny 610mm wide x 2057mm window. what would look better here - a shutter or venetian. looking forward to any advice others have had. It certainly is a dilema Sandy Building the "Symphony Grande" with Masterton Homes If I ever remember to update it - check out my blog http://fernadell.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Shutter advice 2May 11, 2013 6:51 pm sandyglenn23 Hi all I am looking at the window furnishings for our yet to be built house and I would love some opinions please. Venetians, as you can have the wand made longer which meanes you don't have to reach so far over. Be warened.....timber is not recommender in moist areas, you are better off going with the faux timber. 4. for the ensuite I have a skinny 610mm wide x 2057mm window. what would look better here - a shutter or venetian. Venetian..... looking forward to any advice others have had. I don't really like the look of the 50mm shutters - I think they look better at 89mm .... and yes - I was always going to do faux wood in the wet areas Sandy Building the "Symphony Grande" with Masterton Homes If I ever remember to update it - check out my blog http://fernadell.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Shutter advice 4May 13, 2013 7:16 pm Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
