Perhaps something with a bit of texture/flecks so that any stains or marks won't be seen to easily... Otherwise the 4th or 5th up would work nicely too Have you asked if you can change as that might help you decide Re: Carpet colours - please help us choose!!! 5Apr 08, 2013 7:32 pm Yep we definitely can change. We've paid a deposit but they said initially even if we change our mind last minute that would be fine just to let them know... There was actually a carpet we really liked with the square patterns in it (similar to the one I was asking you about Leanne) but we kind of changed our mind for the more plush carpet but now we are thinking of going back to it - they have more colours from memory as well. They are both same price (middle to high'ish in price) so no issue there swapping. It was still really lovely to walk on and soft as well. Building the Riva by Dale Alcock Homes. So I like the look in a bedroom because it feels cosier, but in living spaces, with walls that dark, I think I would go a lighter carpet to feel more spacious. I find too that darker carpet is more challenging to have bright coloured soft furnishings with, but that is just taste - I have a thing for bright colours. I am strongly considering dark-coloured flooring in most of my living space and as part of that, the walls are going to be as light as I can handle (something like dulux whisper-white maybe... I'm still hunting a super-pale grey/white with cool tones). If you do go lighter, I'd be careful about tones. I would want a warm-tone with that wall colour, not a cool one. HD Land settled May '14. I'd definitely (personally) go for a high contrast though - either very dark or very light. Or, re-paint that/some rooms and use that gray as a feature wall. Re: Carpet colours - please help us choose!!! 11Apr 12, 2013 1:52 pm I wouldn't use the dark brown carpet. Unless you were going for a really sensual moody bedroom. Is that wall colour really grey? Looks more of what they are calling greige (grey and beige) rather than a true cool grey colour. You really need to try the carpets in the room. So hard to know what looks best until you see how the light hits it in the real setting. Good luck.
