I would however add a flat cushion, in a cream or taupe colour. I like the white stool too, because it's modern which which will help tie in my transitional style. It'll match the living room couches, and brighten up the heavily wooden area of the house. The saddle suits the kitchen though and the wood will match my dining set. I am leaning towards the white stools but I always planned on getting saddle stools because I just love them. Throughout my house will be dark wood furniture, but the theatre will have modern white furniture, and the living room couches are a modern style and white also. Help! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bar Stool Help 4Apr 05, 2013 11:51 am We have something similar with the white stools. I can see if your flooring is timber or tile but if it's tile, go for the white stools or if timber then go for the timber stools. Albeit that the timber stools would match and are longer wearing, they have a tendency to topple and if the edge falls on tiles, you might end up with cracked or chipped tiles. My parents had timber stools and tiled kitchen and as kids we would always by accident topple the stools. Just a thought! Do you have a colour theme for your kitchen? Eg Green, Red etc. If so, you might want to buy leather stools with matching colour. In our case we have a white kitchen with added red so out leather stools are red. Re: Bar Stool Help 5Apr 05, 2013 1:57 pm Hmm seems like two votes for the timber! My floors are timber laminate in red chestnut colour. My kitchen has no colour theme but the cabinets are Laminex Bronzeworks which is basically dark browny bronze. Benches are cream with stones all through it. I haven't planned on having a feature colour anywhere but if I were it would be red. I'm wondering if perhaps bar stools should be purchased last?? Just got rid of them for a few reasons. One: the base of stool was always covered in dust or food. Two: kids left them at differents heights when they were finished with them and they looked untidy. 3: we are near the coast and they started to rust. Good luck, I like the timber though. Re: Bar Stool Help 7Apr 05, 2013 8:03 pm Just my opinion but I like the white but as they seem to go with the kitchen quite well. I'm not sure about the chrome look with the more traditional/rustic furniture. That's why we steered away from modern stools like the white ones.
