Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 18, 2008 8:08 pm Mish you gave me an idea and I didn't want to hijack dreamhomes post but I really liked this image you put up:
and it gave me an inspiration for the new place. I haven't seen cavity doors with glass panels but I'm sure you can just use a standard glass panel door with the right running rail. And because all our doors are timber I thought it might look good in our Master bedroom. Here's the plan of the Master: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The existing cavity doors for the ensuite and WIR are fairly plain jobbos. With the doors roughly symmetrical about the centre of the wall, and with a plain white (to highlight the doors) I think it will look really good. The only thing that may create an imbalance is that the ensuite will have light spilling in which will light up the glass and the WIR won't have the spillage. So one dark glass and one lit up. I'd appreciate your thoughts... And I'd have opaque glass for obvious reasons...... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Cavity Doors....an idea? 2Apr 18, 2008 8:11 pm to_do_list And I'd have opaque glass for obvious reasons...... Not too much you can do about it; one has a window the other doesn’t. I really don’t think it will be too obvious, after all, how many doors do you see that are kept closed all the time? So it should be pretty close in the light factor. So it should be pretty close in the light factor. Ornamental only...when we had a look on inspection there was built in shelving against it...and it was dark in the robe. I could remove it but DW would run out of shoe space... we'll probably refurb the robe but maximise the space. By dome you mean domed skylight?....I got a bit confused I didn't know whether you were still referring to the oak door comment... sorry mind is in TGIF mode...busy day. mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Cavity Doors....an idea? 7Apr 18, 2008 9:16 pm skylight Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Cavity Doors....an idea? 8Apr 18, 2008 9:17 pm Wow... those doors look great - definately get the ones with glass - and maybe so you don't get alot of light from the bathroom, make sure you have sunblock curtains on the window - that should stop the natural light coming thru....
