Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 13, 2008 8:33 pm Hi Michelle
Was browsing around, very happy to find such a great resource. I have found the forum posts helpful with my decorating But while im here, i thought id ask some advice regarding a new rug. This is my first time decorating, furniture is pretty much all done, but im having a hard time finding a perfect rug for my lounge / entertainment area the TV (black) is against a gray feature wall, on top of a glossy white entertainment unit, side walls are white, and the Sofa is Chili Red, making it the feature i guess So far its all looking really good, but i dont want to make a mistake with the rug. Ive been looking at a few designer rugs, and found this one http://www.designerrugs.com.au/rugs/saffron/169/#rug_169 but any idea's you have for a rug, color wise would be great Cheers, Dan Re: New Apartment, Help!!! 2Apr 14, 2008 9:30 pm Hi Dan,
My computer had a malfunction tonight, so I’m off to bed……to try and calm down. I will try and look at your question tomorrow, sorry! Welcome to the forum also! Your sofa isn't by King Furniture, is it?
I love Designer Rug rugs (am looking for a rug too) and I like the one you like, although to me it looks a bit retro which is fine if that's the style of your home. I would guess it would be quite expensive though, being from Designer Rugs and also custom made? Over 2k maybe? Here's a couple of other rug sites as well: http://www.rugsonline.com.au/rug-collections.html http://www.rc-d.com.au/ plus Deals Direct and e-Bay have some budget ones as well. Re: New Apartment, Help!!! 4Apr 14, 2008 10:22 pm Hello Michelle and mek
Thanks so much for the prompt responses I don't know how you picked it Mek, but yes i did get my sofa from king furniture, Delta II - they had a sale on, and i loved how it can be customized, great for apartments The designer rug in the link was only 1.1k which isnt to bad, just didnt want to make a bad 1.1k mistake with the purchase The apartment is very new at "The Chevron" in Melbourne, its a very retro place, so im after a retro / modern look Thanks for the links Re: New Apartment, Help!!! 5Apr 15, 2008 12:14 pm You might be new at this decorating thing……but you sound like you are doing a great job!!!!
I had a look at the link…..I LOVE the rug DOTS……the rich red with white dots!!!!! Is there any chance you could post a photo of your room????? I will know as soon as I see it which way would be best! But i might be looking for a rug a little to early (as expected when your overly excited). All the furniture is in except the sofa (8-10weeks build time) - and its only been a month since order I could post a picture, but it will only display the area where the sofa will be, with the Entertainment Unit, and TV in place - if that helps Re: New Apartment, Help!!! 7Apr 15, 2008 1:59 pm DV I could post a picture, but it will only display the area where the sofa will be, with the Entertainment Unit, and TV in place - if that helps That’s a start; I want to see your flooring as well. So yes please, can you post the photo??
