We're going to go over that first thing when I move in, just haven't decided what colour yet... it would have to go with this rug: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building a Delta 21 at Craigieburn - http://homeofzero.blogspot.com.au/ Deposit: 26/02. Re: Beige Royal or Grand Piano? 4Jan 16, 2013 11:26 am We were going with Grand Piano Quarter initially, but changed our minds to Whisper White (DHs request). Might still do Grand Piano Half or full on a feature wall. Will post pics once done. I would never have picked that they were the same colour. Love it. Re: Beige Royal or Grand Piano? 6Jan 16, 2013 2:39 pm I forgot to mention - my build still has that green plastic sheeting over all the windows, which is why things might look a slight green tint. And by 'slight' I mean completely Also when I said left, I meant right. Switch on, brain! Building a Delta 21 at Craigieburn - http://homeofzero.blogspot.com.au/ Deposit: 26/02. Contract: 22/05. Re: Beige Royal or Grand Piano? 8Jan 26, 2013 11:15 am Have gone with Grand Piano Full (yes full...stuff ya all with your half tints, i said naively) on almost all our walls, with the exception of a rich deep orange feature wall. Grand Piano is a gorgeous colour...it makes the home look really warm and cosy - in a modern non yellow-tinged walls way - and makes our high-ceilinged main area look less cavernous and stark.
There is no yellow tinge whatsoever (yay!!). In our house it appears very neutral and as such is of course a chameleon...changes with the colour and lighting around it. In some rooms it appears as a tinted slightly warmed grey,at some times in appears to have a very subtle tinted warm green look (VERY subtle don't worry) in other rooms it looks like the perfect neutral...neither cool or warm. However, due to the lack of any strong sunlight entering our home, it tends to lean towards a warm brown beige more often than I would like. So in retrospect we really should have gone for Grand Piano Half so it would look nice at more times of the day! The other solution I had was to brighten the house with white bookcases, picture frames, curtains and other accessories. It would provide the pop of pure happy bright white that I need (too much beige is BAD in my opinion) without having to resort to stark white walls (which can be as depressing as beige for me). Ages ago I was looking into Grand Piano on the net to see what people thought of it, how it looked etc and it was in a country home magazine and they said it pairs really well with white. We have a modern home and although there isn't much on the walls yet i can tell by one white floating shelf that it does indeed look awesome with white. I may leave it at full strength if i finally get around to implementing the original vision for the place which was having a neutral milky non yellowed beige to act as the perfect canvas for rich bright accessories and furnishings (including pure white). Beige tends to tone down colours around it so you can get away with brighter stuff. Bright furnishings and accessories (including pure white) against a white or too-light wall are seizure-enducing in my opinion. I like the eyes to be able to rest but i also love bright colour so beige seems like the answer. Re: Beige Royal or Grand Piano? 9Feb 02, 2013 7:34 pm We repainted our place only six months ago and chose Grand Piano quarter strength. We were tossing up between Sandy Day, Grand Piano and Beige Royal. I am not kidding you when I say that it took weeks to decide. Eventually I bought some board from Bunnings, sample pots of all three and painted the board with all three colours. I then took the board all over the house to check how each colour looked in different rooms with differing lights and aspects. I would absolutely recommend that you do something similar as it really did help with decision making. We have painted our bathroom in Whisper White and the Grand Piano 1/4 is a lovely soft compliment, it's not so stark that it's shocking when you move from one room to the bathroom. I've found that Grand Piano does not throw any yellow at all, it's a true neutral and seems to go well with lots of different colours. 2fk Re: Beige Royal or Grand Piano? 12Mar 26, 2013 7:11 am Mig love the carpet colour and of course your kitty.
