Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 06, 2012 1:00 pm Hi all our colour selection is not far away and I would appreciate some advice on a wall colour as I'm stuck with those standard "fifty shades of grey" (as they all look to me) included in our selection with no extra cost We will be laying sydney blue gum timber floor throughout the house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ and in all brochures and galleries it's pictured with a custard-like colored walls, the color I'm not a huge fan of.. The blue gum has lots of cool tones in it like: pink, blue, violet, grey and so I thought it might look better with a blue or sage wall colours? Now the question is: which of these given internal dulux colors would match my criteria? Grey pebble 1/4 Buff it Grand piano Sago half Instant half Slip cast Cargo river 1/4 Pale celadon 1/4 Godden (it seems a bit bright) Star gate 1/4 (too light?) Blue to you 1/4 Thomas Tallis There were some more but I haven't listed them as I think they are warm tones Or if anyone had blue gum floors what color did you choose for your walls?? Thanks a lot Regards Ragnar's wife Re: wall colour to match sydney blue gum floor 3Nov 07, 2012 9:49 am Hi, I think the grey pebble quarter would look really nice with the floor boards and white trim...? I think the others on the left hand side have too much of a pink tone which with the floor would look a bit too much pink! Any the grey pebble is a little more neutral than the shades of blue / green. Good Luck!! Re: wall colour to match sydney blue gum floor 4Nov 07, 2012 10:32 am MelanieG Hi, I think the grey pebble quarter would look really nice Thank you MelanieG It's a second vote for the grey pebble!! I've been playing with the dulux visualizer all day and I can see the colors look different when they are on a wall.. definitely wouldn't want to go extreme and end up with the green walls Regards Ragnar's wife Re: wall colour to match sydney blue gum floor 5Nov 08, 2012 8:34 pm Timber flooring no matter what colour it is, as long as its NOT limed washed, will go with just about any wall colour. Buff It "half" would work well with your timber colour and give a nice warm feel.
