Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 31, 2012 7:06 pm I have read many hogs bristle threads & I still cannot decide, can someone help. this link is my flooring sample which runs throughout the hallway & kitchen & lounge https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21372568/my%20house/floor.jpg my kitchen has stowe white doors & bench top diamond gloss lunar stone https://dl.dropbox.com/u/21372568/my%20 ... 0stone.jpg I have tried the sample pots of the 3 strengths of hog bristle. To me the quarter next to white looks like cream yellow & full strength looks like a cream with a green tinge. To me it looks like when you place it next to a white it throws off a dirty cream so would not using a standard white on a ceiling take away this yellow dirty look. I am thinking of using quarter on the ceiling & doors & skirts but I only have standard 2400-2500 height ceilings. Re: Hogs bristle help 2Oct 31, 2012 7:36 pm Definitely use quarter on the ceiling if you're using full or half on the walls. I hate "ceiling white" lol, always go for a 1/4 or 1/8 strength on the ceiling when I paint. - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Renovated...a LOT. Built in 2013. Our thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=67954 Re: Hogs bristle help 3Oct 31, 2012 8:06 pm What size samples have you painted? I use Hog Bristle 1/4 on my walls with gloss white trims and white ceiling. I love it.I don't think it has yellow undertones. It's a nice warm colour. I think full strength would be too dark on all walls. Much darker than your bench. 1/4 strength on the ceiling will look lighter than 1/4 on the walls so you could possibly do 1/2 on the walls and 1/4 on the ceiling? Re: Hogs bristle help 4Oct 31, 2012 8:19 pm I painted on pieces of gyprock left over from my new house . I am starting to think that maybe bunnings stuffed up my color pots as I can't understand why people like this color based on my samples. My builder is getting a bit irritated as I can't make my mind up & he wants the painter to start. I was going to do 1/2 on walls & 1/4 on ceiling but I wanted to do the whole house the same. How white would the quarter look on the ceiling. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7929 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12508 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 |
