Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 26, 2008 10:02 pm Hi all and Michelle,
Been reading the post about getting an interior decorator on board and am most definitely thinking of getting one.( altho building a project home). https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=3380 Virtually of all the display homes have used a interior decorator. They just seem to know how to bring about the WOW factor and take the home to the next level!!! So some questions to those who are decoraters and those who have had one. 1.Is the best time to start consulting them when you start exterior colours? 2. How many hours would be enough to do say a 4 bedroom home? 3. One thing I'm finding that word of mouth is the most important way to find a good decorater so they are not that easy to find. The reputation they have built for great colour and ideas is not something you can find in the yellow pages. So hard to find a good decorator. 4. Any ideas for finding a decorator in Sydney would be highly appreciated. any other advice of this... pls let me know Thanks Raz If you think you can, you can. Q) Is the best time to start consulting them when you start exterior colours? A) The best time to consult with a designer or decorator is when your plans come out of council…..don’t wait till your home is being built. Get in and get it sorted as soon as you know you have made all your final decisions! Q. How many hours would be enough to do say a 4 bedroom home? A) This will depend on what work scope you are excepting the decorator to do. The whole house… or just bits that you are finding difficult to sort. A full house your size for me would cost you about $800 around about and that’s doing EVERYTHING! About roughly 8 hours. Don’t forget this is including getting all samples from suppliers, which when you think about it is……carpet, timber, tiles, laminates ………. Q) One thing I'm finding that word of mouth is the most important way to find a good decorater so they are not that easy to find. The reputation they have built for great colour and ideas is not something you can find in the yellow pages. So hard to find a good decorator. A) Word of mouth is the best way to go with any trade. Also websites……if you can read testimonials from their past clients, you should be able to decide if that is the decorator for you. Q) Any ideas for finding a decorator in Sydney would be highly appreciated.
