Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 19, 2012 2:41 pm We are currently at colour selection stage for our new house. We are tossing up between either ARC Coffee or ARC Champagne bamboo flooring for our main living/kitchen area. I like the idea of using whites and browns rather than blacks/greys for our kitchen and wall colours which flooring do you think would work better for this? Re: Dark or light flooring? 2Aug 20, 2012 10:23 am Either of those colours will work, I sell the Arc at work and both are very nice colours. It never looked clean, any speck of dust shone like a beacon. We have white concrete floors in our new renno along with what i would call medium coloured timer flooring. The lighter colours hide the dust surprisingly well. Re: Dark or light flooring? 4Aug 20, 2012 6:46 pm Cheers, we currently have light honey coloured floorboards and they are great at hiding the dirt/dust! Michelle have you sold alot of the champagne and do you have any pics at all? The salesmen at both shops said they sell alot of the coffee but no mention of the champagne, wondering if its just because its a newer colour than coffee. Champagne is fairly new compared to Coffee. But its starting to sell well now along with the new one.....the one with the mixed colours in it. Sorry, can't remember the name. I'm on holidays. I really like this Bamboo and think it will out sell the other colours. If your existing furniture is dark, go with mid tones. If mid to light tones, you can go darker for floor...you get the idea. Re: Dark or light flooring? 9Aug 23, 2012 10:12 am I did think of the furniture thing but honestly we are probably due for a new lounge and entertainment unit anyway so thats no hassle and as for the kitchen we can pick whatever colours we like! I kind of wish I did already have new furniture so the choice would be made for me lol Michelle I did like the look of Australiana but hubby didn't! I am going to have to take him again he may reconsider as the more I look at it the more Im starting to like it myself, it is the best of both worlds with both light and dark boards! Re: Dark or light flooring? 10Aug 24, 2012 12:10 pm That's what I like about mixed colours on the floor, no boundaries for furniture.
