Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 22Mar 25, 2008 10:54 pm I'd like to think I don't necessarily follow trends but every time I go to buy something they tell me its suddenly come into fashion or everyone else wants one, or they've had an increase in interest in said item . AND every time I walk into a shop 1/2 a dozen ppl walk in behind me .
Yeah I probly follow trends ... unknowingly following the other lemings out there . I gave away all our old fashioned 50's furniture just before it came back into fashion as well (kicking self) . Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 23Mar 25, 2008 11:15 pm **Phoenix** Which ones do you collect CN? (sorry to hijaak) Ash is right again......(isn't he always? ) I mainly collect the 1:18 Biante Commodores - road going ones like the VL Walkinshaw, late model HSVs, Monaros etc. With the imminent release of the Brock 1984 "day glo" cars, I'll be collecting some of the race ones, but I do favour the road-going Brocks that are due out later. I also have a liking for the 1961/62 Corvette, and the Corvette ZR1, so I have a few of those in 1:24 (as well as a 1:8 scale 1986 Corvette I built from a kit). Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 24Mar 25, 2008 11:27 pm LOL, Ian's pre-ordered the upcoming Brock range too, being the Holden fan he is....he also has a few Fords, a number of the Allan Moffat racing collection and a few others. Ian recently laid his hands on a couple of the the Mad Max interceptors...thanks to Mike (firthy_26)... By any chance did you pick up an Effijy when they were up for sale?
Again they will stay in their boxes until we/ I find them an appropriate location in the new house.... CN, remind me never to get you two together!!!! Anyway, back onto the topic now.... Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 25Mar 25, 2008 11:49 pm Don't worry, I'm 1000km north...... although I head to Bendigo once a year.
I didn't get Efijy. I like the car, but the model didn't do it justice I don't think. In my opinion our garage is too small anyway..... so no, i'm not sexist at all...just very selective in what i want as decor in my/our house.... Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 33Mar 26, 2008 9:23 am Yak_Chat I've installed brown benchtops back in the 80's We have a chocolate/mocha coloured ensuite complete with Parbury "Antique Bronze" benchtop. When you think about it, how 80's is that?!?! I think I neither follow the trends nor simply follow my own ideas. I like looking through the Home Beautiful magazines and I see things I really like or really dislike. Most of it is "trend" stuff, but I don't follow it blindly - I just know what I like and don't like. I think I am a visual person, so I like looking at examples and then think how it would look if you changed certain aspects, or how it could be adapted to suit our home. I also like some of the things they show which are sort of "shabby chic" but I know that style doesn't suit me or the house we are building, so I'm happy to admire it and not try to replicate it. In saying that, we have gone for a darker-than-usual wall colour (we liked the colour so took a risk), tinted ceilings (which according to the latest HB mag is a no-no), timber vaneer cupboards (which seem to be against the norm of 2 pak or plain colours) - so I don't think we are bound by fashion. To sum up, I think I make up my own mind, but it is often based on what I have seen that is "in fashion". Ray.
