Or….do you do your own thing? 1) Because you know what you like! 2) You don’t like to follow other people’s choices. 3) You are an individual….so your choice is your own. Which one are you? It's funny though, how it cycles, as the colours we chose 8 years ago, are now in vogue (I've never heard Hog's Bristle mentioned so much!). But by the time we want to repaint, they will be so far out of vogue that it won't matter - but they will still remain within 'mild' tastes. Of course I'm one of those - love the latest trendy stuff - but in reality - things have to be practical, enjoyable, and I dont have to impress anyone with how modern my stuff is. I grew up when orange and green kitchens were trendy, and I've owned houses with Yellow benchtops, I've installed brown benchtops back in the 80's just bought a house with monstero curtain patterns. Trendy - yeah it was once. I'm actually a big fan of restoring old houses to traditional themes and colours. They have French doors out onto large verandas, and to me have so much more appeal. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 16Mar 25, 2008 9:33 pm Our house is going to be fairly conservative and neutral decor and style - not because we're afraid of trends or because of resale potential (wouldn't dare suggest to DH about building again!) but becuase that is what we like anyway.
Any trends that I don't like, I just ignore. Certainly don't get caught up in "am I keeping up?" - I know I'm not and I'm happy with that. Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 17Mar 25, 2008 10:13 pm I've decided to go with neutrals as the base for our home as i then have the freedom to accessorise as required to change the look, if need be.
Not to be b*tchy, but I don't follow trends, but i do though, appreciate the look of a nicely decorated room. I like stylish, functional but some-what understated designs, and a little bit of oppulance in my decor...but that is always up to personal interpretation i suppose.... Either way, hubby does not get a say or else we'd have his model cars on display all over the place!!! Nope, i have my own style, like it or lump it, plus i don't really care if people don't like my selections and i also usually don't ask for anyone's opinion on my decorating style. (LOL....So far, no one has criticised it though!!!... ) Re: The latest trends…..do you????? 18Mar 25, 2008 10:21 pm **Phoenix** Either way, hubby does not get a say or else we'd have his model cars on display all over the place!!! And what's wrong with that... Lucky my wife doesn't read this forum...... I'm lucky enough to get a handful of good 1:18 models into the family room, along with 1 large framed picture, and 1 bar mirror in the hallway. The rest is confined to the study...... or hidden in the garage. NO car pictures allowed in the house, unless in the kids bedrooms.... I say garage, he wants them in "my" study, they MAY go into the kids play room if he really wants to push the issue!!! (BTW our boys have a REAL passion for model cars!!! ...they won't last long!!!) I must admit, they are nice to look at but too many people want to touch and play with them....they're too pricey to be used as playthings though.... Which ones do you collect CN?
