Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 12, 2012 4:59 pm Hi As the title suggests, I am up to the point where I need to choose a dulux colour for our new poly kitchen cabinets. We want a modern white, but am confused as to which is best.... Walls and trims = Dulux Antique White USA Floor = Blackbutt I'm thinking Vivid White may be too stark, what about White on white, Whisper White or Natural White? I'm not sure what colour each throws to.... prob aiming to stay away from too cool or grey hues.... Thanks!!! Re: What colour kitchen to go with Antique White USA walls? 2Aug 12, 2012 5:04 pm Can you just use Antique White USA? Maybe a different strength? Just commenting on Natural White - we have Natural White on our walls. It throws a cool greyish tint. Although on the sample card it looked creamy. We didn't want creamy though so we're glad we tried a sample pot. We went with Polar White Sheen for our cabinets (we picked that first and then the wall colour - we're doing a reno). Renovating our 1970s home Re: What colour kitchen to go with Antique White USA walls? 3Aug 14, 2012 4:09 pm I would normally consider Natural White a fairly neutral white without too much undertone to it. Whisper White can have a bit of a green undertone in certain lights/homes. Vivid White and White on White are both very bright whites, although I would probably say Vivid White is the warmer of the two. I would use Antique White USA Qtr strength. This way you know it will be 'white' but it will have similar undertones to your wall colour. Good luck! I am currently facing a similar predicament. I have Antique White USA walls and am undecided on what white to use for my kitchen cabinets, which will be semi-gloss. I don't want a very bright white. Benchtops will be Caesarstone Frosty Carrina. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm thinking Natural White or Antique White USA 1/4 strength, as suggested in this thread. Re: What colour kitchen to go with Antique White USA walls? 6Apr 25, 2014 12:41 am We currently have antique white USA on the walls and the cupboards are Chalk. We have a black bench top with white tile splashback, seems to look OK. The walls look very creamy in comparison with the cupboards but the contrast is not stark, overall it looks soft and inviting. Re: What colour kitchen to go with Antique White USA walls? 7Oct 20, 2014 1:08 pm Hi - wondering what you ended up using....we too have Antique White USA walls and are looking at Frosty Carrina bench tops as well... Am wanting a brighter white if that makes sense so not sure whether I stick to Antique White USA at 50% or 25% or go to Natural White....TIA Oh no! I would use a can of expandable foam ( there are some that will take render) then cut it back and render over the top 1 11206 Good questions but the best answer will be obtained by visiting (ie: interviewing) a couple of house designers and/or builders and ask them. You may find it challenging to… 2 7735 I might be misunderstanding.... but I would be more inclined to cut a section out from the cinder block wall and place the cistern in the cinder block wall. Very messy job… 1 11089 |
