Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 18, 2012 9:05 pm Hiya, I'm curious if anyone knows how I can get paint matched from a picture online? There is a colour I like called benjamin moore revere pewter, but it is not available in australia I don't think. Can find a picture of it, but not how to purchase it. Is there anyway the paint can be created locally??? Thanks, hope you can understand what I mean LOL Re: Paint not available locally, anyone know how to match i 2Jul 19, 2012 4:32 pm The problem is what you see on a screen is in RGB whereas paint is made up of CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). Worldwide ink manufacturers also have their own colour terminology. Without knowing the ink breakup - the screen version is impossible to match. The best idea is to take a printout (and that too won't match) or similar sample of what you like to your local paint shop and talk to someone who knows, then take some samples home and try them out as light will affect the colour as well. You never know, someone might be feeling helpful.
