Facade colors... what do you think?

Hi All

Thanks for your input in relation to the pendants... now that i have your attention would love to get your input on the facade as well...

...the first picture again is from the display home we visited... my husband loves it... but i am not really keen on the idea of having red bricks as i find them too common and want to go for something a bit different..

...the 2nd picture is of another display home.... love the dark bricks here... with the lighter rendering in the back.... i was thinking we could go for dark colored front door and garage to go with the darker bricks... something like jasper perhaps....

wat do you think??? ... any other new color ideas you can give me to work with??? :wink:

MKR……why the first photo looks good with the red brick is because it is complemented by all the timber decking. And to me it looks great!

Second one looks good also. But I feel the mortar joints stand out too much with this brick.

I have to say I prefer the first one, but this again comes back the timber work complementing it. You need to give thought on what will be going on in the front so you can tie it all together.

I also like the first one better - sorry to side with you hubby :lol:

We also want to get a 'Jasper' front door and matching garage, we are looking at a brown brick called 'Newport' from Austral's Melbourne series - have a look and see what you think

thanx for you input Michelle & haywgl..... will surely keep it in mind when we make the final decisions....

my husband is dancing arnd the living... hehe...

...but okk.... u need to subtract two things from the first one.... there are two upgrades there.... firstly we won't be getting the timber flooring done as my hubby thinks its not too practical... and as our lot is flat...we definitely won't have steps...

...also the stone pillars are an upgrade here... ours will be with the standard bricks....

so now wat do u think?... all votes still for the first one?...

Whilst doing any colour selection you need to visualise the finished product!

When doing externals, this is most important. If you do a great job on the colour scheme, then fall short on the landscaping it could ruin the whole effect.

Ok…..theory behind my decision.

The dark brick is too much of a contrast to the neutral wall colours, Red brick is a natural colour which will complement any other element.

I hope you understand this? :wink:

Yeah I see what you are getting at here...

could you please suggest any other natural color bricks asides from red??

Michelle... the range that we saw at the Color selection center was from Austral... would really appreciate it if you can suggest any color from their range along with complimenting color options for rendering... and i'll try to match it at the color selection....

Haywgl... I actually did see your thread and love the colors of your bricks as well.... but then not sure what color rendering would compliment it well

I JUST LOOKED….THERE ARE A FEW AVILABLE!

If you could source this for me, I will complement the bricks with a paint colour for you.

Looking at the brick on the website ….

I’d say the straw. With Dulux “VAST” PO9.B2. This is a new colour range from Dulux.

Check out the colour and stick within this colour range
