Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 17, 2012 11:54 pm Just wondered if anyone has tried using a strong colour on the ceiling as I have seen a photo on houzz.com of a girls room with a deeper pink ceiling, one wall is a taupe colour and the other white with white furniture and pink/ white bedding ( sorry can't post link from iPad) if you want to see, you can search tineke triggs on houzz.com and scroll down a bit it has the pink pouff at the end of the twin beds. I really like the idea but not sure if it will work for me, I would probably not do the ceiling as bright as they have used. 2/2010 8 acres purchased 11/2011 plans submitted 3/2012 plans approved 13/4 slab done 16/5 brickwork and roof finished 4/6 lock up 29/6 kitchen and bathrooms in 30/6 currently painting Re: Using colour on ceilings in girls room 2Jun 19, 2012 12:46 pm I have not done it yet but have seen it done lots of times. It would depend on the height of your ceilings though. If you only 2.4m ceiling, still paint them but use a very pale colour like a soft blush pink. If you have higher ceilings go for something bolder. I would paint some large samples out (about A4 or A3) and blue tack them onto the ceiling for a couple of weeks. That way you will have a better idea of what the colour will look like, and how dark you should go. Good luck - I'm sure it will look great!
