Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jun 14, 2012 11:25 am Hi, ok o we are having trouble working out what kind of feature we should be putting in the divider between the main living/dining room and the bedroom hallway area. We don't really want to add the standard plantation shutters, maybe something more funky, wood would be nice, created more warmth. Any ideas would be appreciated! see attached pic for the space in question Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: advice on a feature divider. They can use metals that can be stainless, rusted or powder coated to many colours. They also use ply wood and mdf. The guy I used is PO Box Designs. They have a website and Facebook. Definitely recommend them. Re: advice on a feature divider. Timber will look wrong as I don't see any other timber bits in the room, have you any timber furniture? I like the way the cut-out lets you see the metal artwork on the entry wall. I would possibly change the rug to add a feel of warmth to the room. Pic included =) 11Jun 19, 2012 11:49 am I love the idea of the cut out screens. If you want to add warmth why not try a warmer metal like copper, and add a couple of splashes of copper accessories through the room. There's nothing wrong with mixing metals! Timber slats of some kind could also work, but Michelle is right, you should add some other timber elements around the room to make that work. It doesn't have to be a lot; just a few timber vases or a side table.
