Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 17, 2012 4:06 pm I am trying to wallpaper (?) the ceiling, using unpasted wallpaper. My problem is the edges haven't stuck properly. Any suggestions, please? All I can think is to try pushing some paste into the gaps. It is a deep textured wallpaper (real paper, not vinyl) that has to be painted after installation. It's some 40 years since I tackled unpasted paper, let alone putting it on a ceiling. I've only put one length on at this stage. I put on size first and waited about 45 minutes before wallpapering. I put the paste on the paper, booked it (folded it), then left it about 5 minutes (although the paste box didn't state a time, but I've seen suggestions from 3 minutes to 30 minutes) before hanging it. I just used a sponge to push it on the ceiling (the paper instructions specifically say not to use an edge roller for fear of squashing the texture). Perhaps I need to mix a thicker solution of paste in future? Hopefully the paper will make it look like a pressed tin ceiling when I've finished. Re: Hanging unpasted wallpaper on ceiling 2May 18, 2012 6:10 am Sounds like you might need to repast the joins together, being paper, it will be heavier than normal wallpapers. Hanging from the ceiling will be pulling the weight of the paper as well. http://www.creativewallcovering.com/how ... ring.shtml Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1.
