Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 13, 2012 1:25 pm Hi guys, We are finally building our first dream home and we're wondering if we could get some help with the external colour choices. We initially wanted to go with the artist impression for our facade but then have now decided to go with a completely different theme (Balinese feel) after seeing a few other nice houses. So here is what we have soo far... Any suggestions would be great as these colours choices are driving me crazy!! Bricks - Not sure.. Austral Brampton? after a silver looking brick Roof - Colorbond Surfmist Gutters - Option 1 - Surfmist Option 2 - Monument/Woodland Grey? to help break up the white Fascia - Option 1 - Monument/Woodland Grey to help break up the white Option 2 - Surfmist Downpipes - Surfmist Aluminum Windows - ??? Unsure.. Monument/Woodland Grey/ Or Surfmist or Silver? Front Render (Main) - Dulux Royal Beige normal strength Front Render (Main pillar) - Dulux Ploughed Earth Front Bricks pillar - Not sure what colour would compliment Scyon Axon Cladding - painted Dulux White Duck or Beige Boggart ?? Slightly darker than the main render but not to overpower the main pillar colour Front Entrance Door - to match timberlook on Garage Garage - Timberlook jarrah or merbau (something along the lines of mahogany like displayed on the Eden at Homeworld south) Or do we go for a darker main render and lighter cladding on top? soo confused right now... Looking forward to everyone's suggestions. Thanks heaps guys! Below is the front elevation of our house. Re: Building Our first Home - External Colour help please! 3May 14, 2012 7:09 pm I like your inspiration pictures. To get a more Balinese look I would definately add a darker gutter and fascia - probably Woodland Grey for an earthier tone. I would also stick with black or white for window frames just so it's neutral on the interior as well. Timber front decking for your entry as well. You guys sure are quick We will definitely add more timber as suggested by Michelle and d@n. Would have loved to timber the window frames.. but they cost soo much! So here is what we have come up with now... Roof/Gutters/Fascia - Colorbond Surfmist Front Render (Main) - Dulux Royal Beige Front Door/garage/Porch eaves/decking - timber (a dark mahogany colour) Things we are still unsure about... Aluminum windows - Do we go with woodland grey or Surfmist? Downpipes - Surfmist? Scyon Axon Cladding - Dulux Linseed Front Render (Main pillar) - Dulux Ploughed Earth or bogart? Let us know what you think. Thank you all again for your help! Choosing exterior render colour - Ive got 2 days help! 9Aug 30, 2013 4:31 pm Hello all, Ive been testing sample pots and am pretty confused- We have just had a flat roof - woodland grey put on (replaced) and in 2 days they re- render our house. We live in Warrandyte where its very native and lots of trees on 1/2 acre elevated block. Ive got ot down to 4 colours that i like - Dulux flood mud , Dulux Bogart, Dulux rattlesnake or maybe Dulux dune 200%. If anyone can help or post pix of those colours used as a render that would help me greatly!! Thank you in advance. sarah Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3622 Thank you @.
