I had two fireplaces, both with modern concrete surrounds. Depending on the look you want to go for (we wanted the bedroom warmer/more neutral, and the living room with more contrast) Walls in the bedroom room were painted with Dulux half strength Royal Beige. Ceiling was Dulux Natural White. We did a contrasting wall in Dulux Carriage P13B7 opposite the fireplace. In the Living room we did both the fireplace wall & the opposite feature wall in Dulux Carriage P13B7, but the walls and ceiling were Dulux Natural White. Very happy with how it turned out. Floors were american oak, in a dark mocha/mink color. I wanted to find you a good photo I had on file - but only cruddy photos from the iPhone.
