Other than that you need the 3M picture hooks, strips etc. There are probably other brands out there too. However, whatever you choose goes by weight of your painting or photo as well as size. I think the largest bears up to 2Kg load...They are available at office supply stores. Sounds more like a very cheap plaster job to me- too much sand- rather than fault of the product!
