Brick: "Cotham" by Austral Bricks Render 1 (majority of render): Dulux "Self Destruct" Render 2 (smaller section of render): Dulux Avara Render 3: (horizontal beam and vertical pillar at front door entry) Dulux companion Do these paints go with Cotham? Are these paints nice and neutral (not too "gawdy") Any advice would be appreciated. (Don't have a pic to show, sorry.) Re: Do these colours work together? 2Mar 10, 2008 12:44 pm oztish

Brickwork (Cotham): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Avara - (smaller section of render): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Companion - (horizontal beam and vertical pillar at front door entry): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Self Destruct - (majority of render): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I like the colours and especially the companion!! They all go well with the Cotham bricks. The Self Destruct and Avara are pretty close in colour though...(In my opinion). Oztish, i'd love to see a pic of the facade so that we can see what colours will go where? Re: Do these colours work together? 4Mar 10, 2008 3:11 pm THANKS P!!!!!!
Good point about the 2 colours being close together. Always remember while doing external colours….take them outside to look at them, they will wash out dramatically in the sun. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Do these colours work together? 5Mar 10, 2008 4:09 pm I think the 'self destruct' will go nicely with the bricks as the main render, the 'avara' is almost to alike and the contrast 'companion' gives you a nice visual feature.
It will be interesting to see the facade and to see what quantities of each you need. great colours. Paula Re: Do these colours work together? 6Mar 10, 2008 4:52 pm I like the colours too!! Would love to see the facade...i love the self destruct colour!
I'm trying to decided between Cotham and Newport for my bricks and then have to find a colour for my portico, weatherboard to the first floor, garage door and front door. We are building the Laguna with M and going for the modern facade - I'm trying to post a pic but it won't let me save one from the M site http://www.metricon.com.au/victoria/homes/laguna/facades/default.aspx I want something very similar to the colour on the pic on the website - I intend to use the dark grey roof tiles and dark grey portico, however, am trying to think of a different colour for the garage and front door rather than the purple they use....any suggestions? I would like this to be the same/similar colour for each? Also would white windows look ok with a light weatherboard on the first floor or would they get lost, I was thinking of using a mushroom/stone colour on the first floor cladding does this sound ok? Or any colour suggestions? I'm stealing your thread oztish but it looks like we have similar taste so maybe we can bounce ideas of each other Re: Do these colours work together? 7Mar 10, 2008 5:01 pm I’m so sorry everyone….I m up to my arm pits in STUFF!!!!
Email consultations have taken off well, so I have a couple banked up at the moment. Haywgl….I think I told you I could help you with your colours as well????? I’m really sorry I forgot, and going away for the weekend hasn’t helped me either. Haywgl….I’m going to make you post in its on thread on my forum, so I will remember to look at it when I get a minute! Thank you so much for the feedback so far - and my apologies for taking so long to log back onto this forum. I will scan a pic. of our facade and post here over the next day or so. Also, I will detail some other colour choices we've chosen. I'm not too concerned about the Avara being too close to the Self Destruct - I wasn't too keen on having several render colours in the first place, but the colour consultant strongly suggested it, so we chose this one - I actually hate houses where the accent render is too contrasting with the main colour - then again I am not an interior designer (maybe for obvious reasons?) Anyway, I'll be back with the rest of the info - bubby is asleep right near me and I can't put the light on (yes, we're all crammed into my parents house whilst this house gets built) Thanks again...and stay tuned. Building Standards; Getting It Right!
