Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 24, 2012 12:56 pm Can anybody help me? I would like to install a curtain rod & curtains, over a window that currently has a venetion blinds & pelmet, which extend 100mm out from the wall. I believe I can purchase extendable brackets, but have not yet been able to source any from bunnings, or curtain shops. The reason I would like both the blinds and curtains, as it is for a childs room, so I want colourful curtains, with additional blockout. My problem is that one side of the window is hard against the wall, thus, not leaving an even amount of space as the other side. What is the norm for making curtains for this example? Will I just have to put the rod as far as I can against the wall, then when the curtains are open, they will cover more of the blinds on one side? Any help appreciated, I'm a learner to making curtains, and posting on forums! Re: Want to install Curtains, where one side is against the 2Apr 24, 2012 5:03 pm Hi learner ... The blinds are set into the window reveal and the curtains are on the window frames. Try using a soft fabric for the curtains, this way when you have them open they will stack back closer together. I have a soft crumpled sheer fabric for my curtains. No ones noticed.....or if they have they haven't said anything.
