Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 05, 2012 4:10 pm Hi, We are building and will be having a breakfast bar - I have always wanted one and am quite excited by this. I have no idea where I can find good quality but not over the top expensive bar stools. I'm not really sure of the style, but want a back on them and want them to be comfortable. If you have great bar stools can you share your pics and tell me where you got them from please Thanks Re: Bar stool help. Please show me some photos!! 2Apr 06, 2012 8:16 am I bought some quite a while ago for my other house from Freedom furniture. The quality was good and the price was better! http://www.freedom.com.au/furniture/din ... ng-stools/ Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bar stool help. I like the Henriksdal bar stools - wooden legs with padded seat and back. They come in 2 heights and a range of colours. The price range is something like $79-$119 each Of course, Ikea sell a wide variety of bar stools, but these are the ones I'd really like to get. Just have to wait for my breakfast bar to be built, so I know which height will suit it! Good luck with your search! Re: Bar stool help. Please show me some photos!! 5Apr 06, 2012 11:12 am I too had problems finding a suitable bar stool and when I found our dining setting I mentioned this to the shop owner. He suggested I do something similar to the dining chairs and said I know the manufacturer I'll give him a ring, so the deal was done over the phone sight unseen, just a vision in my head of what was coming. When they arrived we were so happy and they looked great with all the cream and brown colours in the house. Sorry I can't remember the cost but I know it was reasonable. When we were moving to this house I was a bit apprehensive about them fitting in to a decor of greys and whites and timber floors. We couldn't afford a new house and new furniture and these were less then six years old and made from Tasmanian oak but as you can see from the pics they fit in OK. Maybe you could get a local cabinetmaker to make you something to match your furniture and if you are having an open plan area I think the matching furniture does look good. Regards, Grumbles Re: Bar stool help. Please show me some photos!! 6Apr 06, 2012 11:37 am Mclaren and I ( and a few others) have these. Super comfy as nicely padded. She has white and they go up much higher. Please show me some photos!! 9Apr 06, 2012 8:38 pm Oh should add, we find them fine for kids. Our 2yr & 4yr olds sit at ours for brekky & lunch with no issues. I do find they show greasy fingermarks so I wipe them down after each use but they are easily cleaned. I will need some myself in a few months (build just started) and noticed heaps on eBay a little while ago. Lots of styles, free delivery and only about $200 for 4 stools. Anyone bought any? What is the quality like? They look like exactly like the ones in shops!? http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Bar-Stools-/38201/i.html Re: Bar stool help. A friend of mine built 3 years ago and she bought her stools from deals direct. Please show me some photos!! 17Apr 17, 2012 11:57 am How about the Ingolf from Ikea? Timber so easy to wipe over, look pretty stable for kiddies to sit on and have a substantial back? You could always add a cushion to the seat to make them more comfy. Have a look on Eiffel's thread for pics of them in situ (they come in both white and "antique stain" and are $79 each). Re: Bar stool help. Please show me some photos!! 18Apr 17, 2012 11:14 pm Matt Blatt - bar stools I like the Replica Emeco US Navy bar stool - comes in red, black, white and silver. I'm hoping to get a few of them. The Hip Hop bar stool is similar to Kiwi's and others - It's $89, is a swivel bar stool, comes in red, black, white and silver. It's molded plastic, so super easy to keep clean. There's the Forte bar stool from Freedom. Currently on sale for $99, only comes in black. there's also the Novel bar stool, but I'm not convinced it would be terribly comfortable over a period of time (very flat seat). I don't mind the Que bar stool - it comes in various colours (mostly fake leather, but I think one of the colour options is a fabric). But it doesn't swivel. There's also the Lisbon stool from Dare Gallery. The London stool is again similar to the stool in Kiwi's photo, but the Madrid stool is also stylish. The Buyster website also comes up with a few options (filtered for high-back swivel bar stools). This stool looks pretty good (good price), although I'm not sure how easy it would be to wipes crumbs out. I quite like these red stools, but red isn't for everyone. Anyway, hope that helps. 2010, June : Land bought (1700sqm, battleaxe block). That's it so far! We're in the design phase .... Re: Bar stool help.
