warm and cool whites

Just wondering what people are chosing for their flow through colour.

We chose 1/4 strength Hog Bristle and painted a colour board today. It is a very nice warm white (ty Michelle) and matches our cafe cream and mountain pepper kitchen cupboards perfectly. In fact it is just slightly lighter than polytech cafe cream.

Have you chosen a warm or cool white ..... if so which colour?? There seems to be a huge range of whites available.

Back: 1/4 strength hogs bristle - stunning white but warm
Middle: mountain pepper and cafe cream (polytech) & Iced snow C/S
Bottom left: bathroom floor tile, spotted gum flooring, tile in kitchen

1/4 on doors etc

I've got Dulux White on White on all walls, architraves, internal doors, wardrobe doors and behind glass splashback.

I like your selections Dy. Very complimentary.

We had Chalk USA on the walls and 1/2 strength for the skirts, archs and internal doors with hogs bristle as the feature wall colour at our last place.

The new place we have gone for a little more warmth and will have the equivalent colour to the Hogs Bristle on the walls and 1/4 strength Hogs Bristle on the archs, skirts and internal doors. have not selected the feature walls as yet.... oh and Spotted Gum for the flooring to most of the house too.

A nice little contrast....I hope.... :wink:

Similar theme to what I am attempting to create. Although I am having gloss white doors, skirtings and architraves, I will be introducing the warmer colours with everything else. We were at Cosham last week trying out different 'looks', and this one is what appealed the most...at the moment!

Walls: full strength Nomadic Ivory
Tiles: possibly white to tie in with the white bath and basins (square, of course!)
Floorboards: spotted gum
Carpets: not sure of exact colour, but a light chocolate/mocha to hide the dirt/stains.
Wet area floor tile: Urban cloud (may change once we do our colours)
Kitchen/powder/bathroom/ensuite benches: Ice Snow
Kitchen/powder/bathroom/ensuite cupboards: Laminex Stipple Cocoa
Kitchen upper cupboards: possibly Laminex Clamshell
Splashback: undecided
Feature tile: undecided.

I just love these warm earthy colours!!

Hi DeeElle,

I am looking at Dulux Antique White USA at the moment but I change my mind so many times

My builder only needs to know my selections on a 'need to know basis' good in one way I can take my time but the down side is that I have started to doubt myself in the choices I thought I had made.

Stormy, your colours are very similiar to my colour board

I'll have to check out your posts again as I seem to be selecting a lot of the grey tones as well. They are not easy to match i.e. grey green, grey purple, grey blue :roll:

. I'm still not settled on my kitchen floor tile ... they are a bit too greenish but they are the closest I can get to grey in a 600 x 300 tile.

Our house has just been painted in China White & I'm really happy (thanks Michelle

). Walls & ceilings + doors, skirts etc.

We are having all earthy tones as well:

Sydney Blue Gum Floor boards

Kitchen: Pebble Cove bench top
Moleskin cupboards
Peruvian Clay panels for island bench

Bathrooms & laundry
Beige Floor tile
White wall tile
Vanity top Natural Quartz
Vanity cupboard Stipple Seal

Haven't got the floorcoverings on my colourboard, but board is painted in the China White

I like your selections. Gloss white cupboards will look great with spotted gum floors.

No gloss white cupboards in my selection D! I'm having all stipple cocoa cupboards and vanities, but the possibly of clamshell upper cupboards in the kitcken.

The gloss white refers to all the internal panel doors and the skirtings and architraves

Love your colours, Jo K, looks gorgeous!

..and thanks, P, great to be finally back on track, although still will take a while until we can apply for the loan, but should be able to do soil tests/survey and quotes before hand. Not quite up to organising the flooring yet, and we will have it installed after handover...I think! I'll get the name from you closer to the time! Cheers!

Did my bathroom selections all in around an hour 6 months ago & still really like it all (keep getting the samples out to check

).

Michelle was fantastic (as always!) in helping me decide on all the kitchen & paint selections - new that I wanted off white cupboards with a light stone benchtop, but wasn't sure how to tie it all in.

We have all got similar tastes - although it is obviously what is popular at the moment.

Great topic Dy, love looking & reading what everyone else is doing.

Hi all, your selections look lovely. Jo K, where are you having those brown mosaic tiles? Are they the Peruvian Clay you mentioned? They are going to look great.

Question re whites - in the kitchen we are having gloss white vinyl wrap for our cupboards, but we weren't given a choice of whites - is this normal with vinyl wrap, or should I be asking my builder which shade we're getting? Is there a website you can look them up?

Donuts…. Peruvian Clay is a Laminate Jo K is using in her kitchen.

You should be getting a pure white for your vinyl wrap.
No tints no shades….pure white.

Just to make sure ask your builder, but I’m pretty sure that’s what you will get.

Hi Donuts,

The grey tiles are tumbled marble tiles & come in strips 20 cm long from Beaumont Tiles. We are using them as a feature tile in ensuite & powder room.
