I really like the idea of the wallpaper ajantakadam and mimi, but unfortunately my partner is dead set against wallpaper altogether, so I'm afraid it will have to be a paint finish. I've put together another image with some of your suggested colours and some that I've found: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm really liking all of the feature wall colours, but particularly Aerostatics, Enterprise and Mocha Magic. One thing I neglected to mention - the wall behind the bed, which will be the feature wall, has a split system air con unit on it. It's white and not unattractive as far as air con units go, but still, it will likely stick out like a sore thumb against a feature wall - is this tolerable??? Thanks again!! Re: Master bedroom colour help, please!!! 10Mar 19, 2012 5:07 pm I try to avoid walls with aircon units on them for feature walls, especially if the feature paint is quite dark. The unit stands out way too much and too me looks wrong. How about a block of large black frames with black and white photos in them as the feature behind the bedhead and no feature colour. As for the aircon... Is there another good wall in the bedroom that the bed could go onto? Def wouldnt have a dark feature wall with a white aircon. I agree with Michelle - I try to avoid painting feature walls that have aircon units on them. But, a feature wall doesn't necessarily have to go behind the bed either. Why not paint a large wall behind the dresser, adding an armchair and some art. Then add a bold piece of art, or a great gallery wall above the bed like Michelle has suggested? I keep a Pinterest board of inspiration for 'bachelor pads'. You might find some inspiration there? http://pinterest.com/ethosdesign/bachelor-pad-living/ It has lots of navy, grey and brown spaces.
