Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 02, 2012 7:42 pm Hello all, I am new here and I must say this place is so helpful! I have finally decided on a white to paint my walls! Ive chosen Natural White and my ceilings and woodwork natural white 1/2 strength (currently they are Buff it -I think full strength with white trimmings). In our staircase we have rather high ceilings and currently there is a feature wall that is very dark brown. I want to change this colour to something a little lighter that will contrast nicely off the Natural White and add some dimension but wont be too bold. I had in mind colours like Beige Royal, Buff it, Limed White, but im not sure if 1/2 or 1/4 strength would be better. I thought I was settled on Beige Royal 1/2 so I got a tester pot and it was just a bit too caramel for my liking. We are getting beigey carpets. Id lover to hear your opinions and if you have any pics Id love to see them! My painter is waiting on my decision, so any help would be great! Thank you! Re: Help with feature wall against natural white 3Mar 04, 2012 7:37 am I’m thinking if your ½ Beige Royal sample pot is caramel…..something went wrong while they were mixing the pot for you! It’s nowhere near a caramel. Don’t ½ or ¼ any of the paints you are looking at, you’ll need the contrast in colours to add the dimension you want. Have another go at the Beige Royal in full strength and get the sample pot mixed at a proper hardware or paint store.
