Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 01, 2012 1:00 pm Hi We are building our first home soon at Port Hughes, the Dunes complex in SA. We have certain design guidelines to follow. We are up to the stage of colour selections to put in for approval. We can't have any dark coloured roofs such as woodland grey I'm finding the whole experience daunting and confusing. Here is the south east elevation of our house: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So for the external cladding we are having hebel, but are really stuck on choosing a colour for the render? We have to choose a Solver paint. We have decided on the following: Roof, Gutter, Fascia = Ironstone Western Red Cedar infills to the front and sides of the house Western Red Cedar timber windows Corinthian Sunburst Front Door Timber Decking to the entrance Western Red Cedar look Panel Lift Garage Door Mocha Travertine Stone feature to the front columns. I quite liked the Dulux external colour to be Blind Date, but not so sure.... And we have to choose from the Solver colour range Any help would be much appreciated, its my first time building a home! Thanks selma Re: Exterior Colours - Please help! 2Mar 01, 2012 1:28 pm Hi Selma, welcome to Home One! It would help if you could put your colour selections up so we can see them but from reading what you have selected I would suggest giving the timber look garage the flick. We also have restrictions so we went for a Jasper roof, merino gutters and fascia, Solver merino for the render and a merino garage door - sounds bland but it works for us. We also have timber windows and timber infills in the gables and at one stage I was thinking of a timber look garage door but so pleased we didn't do that ... it would have been too heavy and I believe they are expensive as well. Here's ours to give you an idea of the colours ... I'm afraid it's not a very good pic Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Are you living in Port Hughes now? Neutrals and cool greys like shale grey, windspray, timeless grey, winnipeg fog.... Sorry are you saying you prefer that as a roof colour rather than ironstone? What colours go good with an windspray roof? That will go well with the mocha travertine stone feature? Thanks Re: Exterior Colours - Please help! 11Mar 04, 2012 5:50 pm I've just had a look at your colours, similar to Blind Date in Solver is Koala. I can't post photos at the moment, imageshack has put a hold on my posting, even after I just deleted a heap of old photos. I don't have a problem with your selection at all, well done!
