As long as you hang the mirror dead centre, and it is hung that MOST people can see them selves in it……(except the exceptionally short people) then its fine!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() Just don’t tell those friends of yours!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 4Feb 26, 2008 12:41 pm ![]() bec……in the not so perfect world….which most of us live in……we must make do with what we have. Sometimes the mirror is turned on its side so it looks long and narrow. Is this a new fashion statement Mish? I'd worry that it would slide off. Also seen arty houses where people lean their pictures on the walls rather than hanging them. Not sure whether I like this look or not ![]() Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 5Feb 26, 2008 12:49 pm I’d put a mirror on a sideboard……if the sideboard had a back on it.....as you say, I would be worried it would fall down the back.
As for the art …..sat not hung…..I quote like that look, depending on how and where it has been SAT/placed. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 8Feb 26, 2008 1:06 pm He’s just having one of those man moments……you know, how they like to brag!!!!! ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 9Feb 26, 2008 1:08 pm ![]() From experience, I think its best to be well hung! ![]() Ash. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 11Feb 26, 2008 1:15 pm Now he thinks He's art!!!!!! ![]() ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 12Feb 26, 2008 1:51 pm Hi my friend has a large mirror on her hall table looks stunning, must ask her how it doesnt slide off...

Ours has slid forward off the sideboard a few times (placed there by removalist and left there due to lack of hanging space rather than by design). There must be a way of sticking them to the wall so they sit flush rather than falling over to crash on the floor ![]() Maybe the ART version of hanging them really is the safest option. ![]() Sorry to hijack your thread Bec. ![]() ![]() Re: quick question! re decorating hallways table/mirror 14Feb 26, 2008 2:36 pm Blutack!!!!!!! ![]() My tool of trade!!!! Not sure whether I like this look or not No good ![]() And when hanging paintings - ALWAYS - put 2 hooks on the wall about 6 or so inches in from the edge of the frame. This way the load of the painting is spread across the entire frame and the frame is being hung and not crushed in from the sides (as is the case if you use one (1) hook) which can potentially damage the frame or crack the glass.
