how do they do this look? ceilings/curtaining

how do they achieve this hidden tops to the curtains?

we actually tried to get this look but couldnt work it out...
it doesnt work if you have cornice? and has to be full wall?
do they just stop the ceiling early and leave a gap?

it looks very fab

If you take a good look…..you will notice the bulk of the ceiling is lower than the outline.

Therefore creating a “Bulkhead” effect around the room, it’s done a lot in 5 star hotels.
I think it looks really classy…..and a neat look for the curtains.

What’s thrown this photo out is the wallpaper was laid lower again, creating an illusion on that wall.

Your average builder won’t do this ceiling for you!!!!!
They are boxed and cemented, which is why you see it a lot in hotels.

To do this with plaster would cost a lot more,…..it can be done!!!!
But most builders won’t do it……

TO HARD!!!!!

If you look at the wall it looks as though it has a pelmet along the top with recessed lighting installed.

Not boxed and cemented, it's plaster. Services run in the space above, A/C, sprinklers etc.
