Remember to landscape accordingly to your colours Hi Michelle, thanks very much for the mockup! Sorry I haven't posted in such a long time, just been side-tracked by a number of other issues with the builder lately, didn't mean to appear rude by not responding. The red feature column is a pretty interesting idea, and we thought about it for a bit, also looked at pictures and managed to find some houses with red features - but we've decided that it's probably a bit too bold, and prefer something a bit more neutral. Definitely liking the Caoba Dawn garage door though, thanks for the pic. The other thing is that we realised our builder uses Taubmans paint, so following the advice that Michelle and others have given elsewhere on this forum, we've tried to pick Taubmans colours instead of Dulux ones. So after some more tinkering over the past couple of days, here's our new scheme (changed elements underlined): Roof - Monier Horizon tiles in Kava – http://www.monier.com.au/Uploads/Downlo ... _HIRES.jpg Gutters - Colorbond Dune Fascia - Colorbond Dune Downpipes - Colorbond Loft Masonry Walls - (ie the area surrounding the garage door) – PGH Blue Steel Flash - http://www.pghclay.com.au/bricks/Show_142.aspx Cladding - (second floor above the garage) - Taubmans Zurich White Render on main wall (ie where the windows are) – Taubmans Iron Age or Asmara Grey (leaning towards latter at the moment) Windows - Dowell Pearl white gloss Garage - Caoba Dawn Entry door - timber stain to match the Caoba Dawn garage door With new elements: Feature column - render in Taubmans Zurich White to match the cladding Brick pier (in front of the garage) - either keep Blue Steel Flash to match brickwork over garage, or darker feature brick And here's a Sketchup mockup of the above scheme, using Asmara Grey: What do you guys think? Looking good, or worse? By the way - Anna and Michelle, thank you both for being so generous with your time, we really appreciate the feedback on here. The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1614 Thanks Pulse, thats really helpful and very much appreciated. Also thanks for the pointer on sheathing, thats me watching too many american youtube videos! 6 2803 Before you rip it up, if you can in the grout lines, drill some holes and pour/inject techgrip by sika. I have used it to bond mdf to timber, but in the process it dripped… 1 4291 |
