Hello I am here today to request help regarding rule of thumb in selecting size of the furniture. Now it has been few days since I and my husband go for shopping furniture for our house and come back with out finalising anything inspite of liking a few ones, which is very frustrating and I get so stressed that nothing is getting started then how and when will we finish the furnishing process. Since I have seen places done with out any proportion like some times we feel the lounge or entertainment unit is too big for the room like ot things, and am so nervous to buy some thing that misfits in our house and also it not like which can be exchanged. I know a interior decorator would be of great help, but they are charging too much, even their hourly fee to help us select right furniture is unbelievably high. I have the floor plans, although I am not able to read them accurately but am in process of learning that, but is there anyone who can help me with how to decide whether a particular furniture is properly fit for my room or not, like providing some basic principles of proportion, size etc in layman language.
Thanks
