Are you into DIYing? It may be worth looking at places that stock raw pine furniture and painting it yourself and changing the hardware, which may work out a little cheaper than brand new one? Maybe even look at Ebay?
I think Domayne or HN would be a good place to start, though!
This desk cost me about $35 to do up, and changed the look of it dramatically! It was my old students desk I got back in 1986!

I love the french stuff too. What is that sitting on the top shelf...a suitcase?
Ohh and another place to look is a store call "Impressions" I dont know whether they are just in WA or if they are Australia wide. Check out their web site.

It's a little simpler than the ones you have shown but it's lovely desk (and it has a great drawer underneath). Otherwise I would definately look at Everyday Living or http://www.buyster.com.

Here's another view. Whatever you choose, for a nice clean look, put the power points under the desk and use some kind of brush to cover gaps at the back of the desk to…
