Exterior Colours - Blank Canvas

Hi everyone

I'm so glad I finally have a reason to post on this wonderful website - I've just signed up to build on an elevated block in Meve, Beeliar, Perth

I've chosen the Contemporary elevation and I'm going to (try to) add the black and white elevation to this post. Now this is where I get stuck.... colours!

At first I thought I'd go for the classic cream render with white roof/white windows/white doors look - but now I'm starting to think it is too boring and maybe going for medium-light coloured roof like windspray and timber look for the gables and garage door.... I'd like the colour scheme to be timeless, fresh and light. I would prefer render and colorbond roof. The builder uses Dulux paint.

There is a limestone retaining wall that curves around from the left of the block.

All feedback would be greatly appreciated... but I've been hanging around this website long enough now to know you'll probably all blow me away :oops:

Hi Cari,

We are in the process of building & have used Windspray with a sandstone brick (cream colour). The following link will at least give you a bit of an idea of how it would look.

Hi Cari,

I should do an update on that thread & post some more photo's!

Still haven't got the garage doors, but going to have smooth cream the same as windows.

Taking us a bit longer as my husband is doing a lot of the work himself. We are now ready to paint, so getting there!

Really happy with the windspray colour though.

They are powder coated steel balustrading.

* Render
* Gutters
* Facia
* Window Frames
* Front Door
* Railing
* Down pipes

Thanks Cookie. I'm not sure about the other colours yet but definitely nothing dark or grey. Overall I want the house to be light and relaxing.

* Front Door - it is a timber door so i could probably match that to the garage door colour

And for the rest, I'm open to ideas.

Your elevation looks part Colonial and part modern.
I found your home on the site…will take a look later tonight.

I’ve had a couple of clients come to me with photos they have taken, and asked me to find the colours that match the photos……so they can copy! :shock:

It's starting to look like a real house

I like the render colour.

I did a quick search and found some render colours I like the look of online. If I had the confidence to pull this off, and my partner agreed to it I would copy this scheme exactly - including the roof:
