I need some advice about lighting over our kitchen bench. Here is our kitchen: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And these are the lights I am thinking of but just can't decide: http://www.freedom.com.au/homewares/lighting/ceiling-lights/22801517/?region=unknown http://www.telbix.com/Tarakan.html http://www.telbix.com/Sarita.html http://www.telbix.com/Eva.html http://www.telbix.com/Maluka.html I am in love with these lights: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But can't find them anywhere in Australia. We have a stainless steel fridge, ss freestanding oven, ss range hood and ss dishwasher. Our floors are rosegum. I was thinking of the rattan as eventually i would like to replace our dining table chairs with rattan ones like these: http://www.earlysettler.com.au/furniture/detail_description/279/Rattan/Chair/Dining/1/Devil%20Side%20Chair/90045151 We have to tell the sparkie this week so all comments and thoughts are welcome!! Thanks Loretta Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 2Aug 28, 2011 4:53 am Hi Loretta, I’m getting the Sarita for my dining room, been looking at it for a few weeks now. Your kitchen pics aren’t showing. Can anyone else see it? If not, the bench is 3m long by 1.5m wide. Its made from 60mm alpine white QQ and the kitchen doors are natural white. The splashback is made from the same QQ (not my preference but the stone masons stuffed up and included it so we kind of had to take it). So I am thinking that, as its all very white, some contrast would be good hence the rattan look. Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 4Aug 28, 2011 11:43 am ohhh, that's odd. i just tried to click on the link again and nothing! bizarre! Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 9Aug 29, 2011 6:49 am I have to say the ones you can’t find…..but also the Sarita’s. The others look too big??? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 11Aug 29, 2011 12:34 pm I like them all except the eva for that room - as long as they're the right size, as Michelle pointed out. I think the Freedom ones may be smaller? I like your rattan idea a lot, and think that the eva lights are too hard for the space. I would go with something softer & earthier like the others. I also like the ones you can't find - but not for your kitchen. Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 12Aug 29, 2011 8:11 pm So, we decided on either the Eva or the Maluka/Freedom lights. We borrowed two to get an idea. Thoughts?? Thanks all!! Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 13Aug 29, 2011 8:16 pm I think you can do better, not sure on shape i like the look of silver in you kitchen, which is very nice. Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 14Sep 08, 2011 9:26 pm I really really like the "Sarita" I think they have a lovely shape to them and if you could get a couple in a row there would look gorgeous!! The "tarakan" look way too big for the kitchen. I think this one would be more suited to a lounge room. I really dont like the "Eva" in your kitchen at all. and the freedom one....is okay, but I still think the "Sarita" is a much better shape and would suit your new chairs better. Good luck ohhh, may I ask what that pipe is above the cupboards and what are you going to do to disguise it? Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 15Sep 08, 2011 9:38 pm Hi Angelblue The pipes are just the various plumbing piped that run from a bathroom on the other side. We are building a bulk head to cover them up once the plumber is finished doing whatever it is he needs to do! Thanks heaps for your thoughts! Loretta Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 17Sep 09, 2011 6:33 am Feeling very envious now as I looked at Maluka again yesterday. So obviously, that’s my choice for you. You have probably made your decision by now anyway but... could you please tell me where you found the ones you can't find in Australia. They are absolutely beautiful. By the way, please post photos when it is completely finished.. it's looking great! Re: help with kitchen bench lighting 19Sep 09, 2011 8:26 am Hi Rocketship The lights are david d'imperio and called compass: http://daviddimperio.com/products.php?location=pendant3 They are just divine aren't they?? I so wish I could have found them here. Then again, they probably would have bankrupted me!
