Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 29, 2008 7:21 pm Hi,
I am in the process of having the interior of my house painted. I am going for the neutral (read: safe, conservative) look and was recommended the following colours by a friend: Dulux Natural White with Dulux Barn Floor for Feature Walls Ceilings will be painted white (whiter than natural white, but i haven't decided on a colour yet) What do you guys think of this colour combination? The colours can be viewed here: http://www.taradennis.com.au/trends/wintercolours/tabid/754/Default.aspx Re: Interior Colours - Natural White and Barn Floor 2Jan 30, 2008 9:03 am I quite like the combo - though Bronze Fig might make more of a statement (someone on here had 3 feature walls, one great deep red, one dark blue, one in Bronze Fig) After 4 years - we're in! Re: Interior Colours - Natural White and Barn Floor 3Jan 30, 2008 10:36 am I love that combination - really like the Barn Floor colour. It looks modern yet still neutral. Re: Interior Colours - Natural White and Barn Floor 4Jan 30, 2008 8:43 pm The Natural White is lovely so is the Barn Floor, how many feature walls are you going to use the Barn Floor for?
To make a good feature wall its best to use that colour once, or spread them out so the eye doesn’t see them all together. I really appreciate it.
Stonecutter1309, Bronze Fig looks like a nice colour, but i just feel it's a tad too dark. If I was more daring, I probably would have gone for it. Michelle, I only just bought the house. The previous owners had the following feature walls: - 1 in the dining room - textured ocean like blue - 1 in the lounge room - light green - like eucalyptus leaves - 1 in the main bedroom - maroon/purple - The right wall on entrance - light green - like eucalyptus leaves - The small wall at the end of the front entrance (just as you enter the lounger room) - light green - like eucalyptus leaves I am not all that keen on excessive feature walls and bright colours. As such, I plan on having 3 feature walls (dining, lounge and main bedroom). All 3 feature walls will be painted with Barn Floor. The rest of the walls will be painted with Natural White. Any suggestions on what colour paint to use for the ceilings, doors and skirtings? Also, I am thinking of replacing the carpet. Any recommendation for the carpet colour? Thanks heaps! I would look at using a Pure White for your doors, skirts ands arks, this will be a contrast to the Natural White, and a great contrast for the Barn Floor.
