where to put the main colour in a bedroom?

We have decided to continue our internal house colour through into the kids bedrooms, however we have decided to let them have one wall of colour.

So my question is which wall do you think would be the best?

In all three bedrooms, as you walk into the room, the window is immediately opposite.

We were thinking of doing that wall.

But my husband has now suggested, that we paint the wall where their wardrobes and door into the room is - if you get what I mean.

So you would walk into their room and when you then turn around to walk out, that wall would be in the colour they choose.

Have you thought about painting the wall where their bed will be? For our "spare" room (no yet painted) but the feature wall will be the window wall and not the bedhead wall. Reason being is I want the outside to comliment the room if that makes sense.

Where do your kids what the colour? On which wall?

The kids are a little too young IMO to say where the colour should go. But honestly haven't asked them.

Their beds are all along the window, if you get me. (one thing to change when we build again! make space for bed to be on a wall!!) LOL

Hmm do you have any photos of the window in question where the bed will go?

Kids choice might also influence which wall gets painted. Is anything else going in the room? Chest of drawers, desk, toy boxes etc?

that is my sons room (we're doing his first)

also, he has a bed and chest of drawers.

We are going to be buying new bedroom furniture for all the kids, as the stuff they have is temporary.

I'd say the wall on the right. It's your home and your room so go for what you want and what your instinct is telling you. Also depending on how you dress the window will be a feature in itself.

I thought you painted the solid wall ie no doors or windows for your feature?

I was once told that you pick the dominant wall that you first see as you enter the room. So in your case it would be the wall on the right of the window. Does that make sense ::dizzy::

As a pinter I would normally paint the wall where the bed heads goes unless directed otherwise by the owner.

I would put it on a wall without a window or other feature (like a wardrobe). That way you have a nice big feature area to play with that you could put a feature piece of furniture on, or wall decals or art.
