Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 17, 2011 10:36 am Hi all. I know I have prev asked this question but wasnt to sure of the outcome. I am a 31 yr SAHM that has only ever worked on a farm. We have lived in the city side now for the last 10 yrs so I have no job exp what so ever around here. I have always had a love for interior decorating. So much so that I have all the reno and dec shows recorded, every issue of magazine and use our new home as practice.lol I want to look into starting off a career in interior decorating as soon as my youngest son starts school in 2013. So for now Id like to get a bit of experience behind me. Im interested in getting into the field, maybe colour selection with a builder, decorating their display homes or even a few yrs down the track, my own business. So, I recently recieved an email stating that the price of the course thru The Interior Design Instude has dropped and I was thinking about looking into it. Has anyone, had any exp in this area? Any tips etc would be wonderful. Worth it???? 3Aug 17, 2011 3:40 pm Not had any similar experience, but I say GO FOR IT!!! You are obviously planning ahead to be able to work in an area you love, smart. Go on, book the course.. book it! PS. As with trying to get experience in any new job, look for some work experience. Surely there is someone/somewhere who would be happy to have you help out and learn a bit at the same time. Re: Interior Design Institute course. Worth it???? 4Aug 17, 2011 6:41 pm Thanks buzz.
