I think it's much easier to choose wall paper or paint colour AFTER working out the bed part first since wall choices are endless. Just something to think about! If you're interested in greens, take a look at Dulux Domain, I've used it as a feature wall behind our bed and love it as it's a real natural spring green, not too dark either. Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 29Aug 02, 2011 12:36 am Have you thought about Anaglypta wallpaper ? http://www.google.com.au/search?q=anagl ... 9&bih=1240 I have used this on clients houses many times and the effect is great ! It is basically a plain white textured wallpaper that is designed to be painted over (semi gloss or full gloss enamel works best). You might ask whats the point of putting wallpaper on then painting it ? Simple: It has a raised textured pattern which when painted really stands out. Using this you are not stuck with the colours on offer in normal wallpaper. You simply choose the texture that best suits your need, then you can choose the colour to contrast as your feature wall. Wow, now you have given me something else to work with. I like this idea. Would it be cheaper than buying normal wallpaper though? sanjam Hi, Just a suggestion - Porters paints have a wonderful selection and you can choose the designs in different colours(see link below) http://www.porterspaints.com/wallpapers ... collection Maybe you also might like Flaggies Master Broom, page 3 of post. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=35595&start=40 I vote olive green paint colour - good luck Thanks, I've just had a look at Porters Paints & their wallpapers are gorgeous, thank you. I can't wait to have a better look through them all. I love Flaggies rooms & am doing my son's room like that one, I already have that set in my head with green! With our bed we have plain quilt sets - no patterns & they are usually a solid colour - cream & white. I don't really like the darker bedding with the already dark headboard & carpets. I like the Dulux Domain, very nice, I didn't see it in the selection of colours when I did the pictures though.. hmmm! Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 31Aug 02, 2011 5:46 pm Cheaper than plain wallpaper ? How long is a piece of string ? I am afraid you will have to do some research on the prices. Google anaglyptas and you will find suppliers. It is the same as hanging wallpaper in time and complexity, just add the cost of a bit of paint and that's it. I have not bought for about 3 years and for the life of me I can't remember how much it cost me ? Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 32Aug 02, 2011 6:23 pm No problem.. I will have a look! Thanks for the info! Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 33Aug 02, 2011 7:00 pm The only problem with painted over anaglypta is when you get sick of it down the track, it will be hard to remove. but if you wan't to do a ceiling to make it look like a pressed metal ceiling you will save thousands of dollars http://www.designyourwall.com/store/Ana ... -1921.html Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 34Aug 02, 2011 7:25 pm Wallman The only problem with painted over anaglypta is when you get sick of it down the track, it will be hard to remove. http://www.designyourwall.com/store/Ana ... -1921.html No more difficult to remove than ordinary wallpaper. But the advantage is if you do get sick of you can paint it a new colour and change the whole perspective, where with ordinary wallpaper you are stuck with the original colour scheme. Yes more difficult to remove as water won't penetrate through the paint and you will be still stuck with the same raised pattern even if you paint it a different colour Re: Master bedroom feature wall... 36Aug 02, 2011 8:01 pm Wallman eyspy Wallman Yes more difficult to remove as water won't penetrate through the paint and you will be still stuck with the same raised pattern even if you paint it a different colour I agree with that you are stuck with the same pattern, but removal is easy as. I have removed them and it took no longer than ordinary paper (sometimes easier) There is a small perforated roller you can buy, you run it back and forth over the paper and it leaves tiny holes where the warm water from a steam remover enters and soaks in. Then it just gets scraped of as per usual. Once I had to remove some for a client who bought a house with it already in and she disliked it, I simply found a loose corner and peeled the top layer of paper off leaving the under layer where the glue was, which was then steamed and came of easy as. I guess if you do this for a living like I did, you get to know the easy and hard way of doing things, and what seams easy to me may seem like a daunting task to the average home owner.
