Re: Grey Paint 25Sep 07, 2011 10:24 pm I thought Grey Pebble was perfect when I tested it a few month ago and now testing it again in the rooms I want to put it it seems to look very beige instead of grey. Did anyone else find that. Tonight I have tested Tabmans Grey Dusk to see how that goes. Anyone else tried this one as well? Re: Grey Paint 26Sep 08, 2011 7:06 am haywgl Very nice Bel - that's what I am after Are they Dulux colours? xx Sorry Bel yes they are - missed your post it seems bendo I thought Grey Pebble was perfect when I tested it a few month ago and now testing it again in the rooms I want to put it it seems to look very beige instead of grey. Did anyone else find that. Hi Bendo, my parents have Grey Pebble throughout and no, they find it a definate grey. Having said that I have heard people describe Grey Pebble as a "greige" - one of those grey/beige colours so it might depend on the lighting of your place??? Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Grey Paint 27Sep 09, 2011 11:18 pm Hi Bel, I retried it on another patch of wall and it is still coming up very beige, much more than I would like. What do you think of Dulux Brume? Seems to be closest that I want to a silvery grey without throwing brown or blue Re: Grey Paint 29Sep 19, 2011 9:59 am I've never used it but I think Dulux Brume is supposed to be more a proper grey; Grey Pebble is definately a greige. Another colour you could try is Dulux Tranquil Retreat. It's even more "grey" than Dulux Brume, and slightly darker. It can throw more bluey tones in some lights though. The second picture is probably closer to what it looks like in stronger light. There's a few more pictures here http://mydesignethos.blogspot.com/2011/ ... hotos.html. I really love Tranquil Retreat because it's one of those colours that changes quite dramatically depending on the lighting you use, and amount of natural light. Greys are such a tricky colour to choose but so gorgeous when you get it right! Hubby is putting undercoat on today so I will put some bigger patches of colour on the walls and see what happens within the space I have cos we have huge amoutns of natural light. Bel - I have looked at both of those on the sample cards and dismissed them so I will go back and have another loo Just so hard to get the grey thing right!! Re: Grey Paint 33Oct 08, 2011 4:51 pm We have dulux grey pebble half strength everywhere in our house (except theatre room) and we are really happy with it. I love it because it is a nice warm grey and it doesn't throw any blue (not a fan of the greys that can look blue) Building with Ventura homes (WA) Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20516 Slab: 17/04/10, Bricking started: 12/05/10, Bricking finished: 2/06/10, Roof frame done: 11/06/10, Colorbond on: 14/07/10, Lock Up: 19/08/10, Cabinets: 25/08/10, Tiling done: 28/09/10, Electrical: 2/10/10, PCI: 29/10/10, Keys: 4/11/10 Re: Grey Paint 34Oct 13, 2011 11:00 pm Hi everyone, I'm also looking to paint the wall with soft grey. Can anyone suggest if Bristol Platinum is great and not too dark for all wall & internal doors? thanks. Re: Grey Paint 35Nov 16, 2011 2:12 pm I painted my bedroom in a light grey with a touch of blue tones and I have to say that I have a little panic every time I look at it- I don't like the colour- it's a little dated and a little too 'wishy washy' and a little too 'cold' toned... thinking of going a stronger grey or trying a 'warmer' grey with a touch of brown tone to it. Re: Grey Paint 38Feb 08, 2012 11:29 am bendo In the end we went with Dulux Brume and we love it. Its a nice light silvery grey and doesnt throw blue or brown. We did 1/4 strength cos I wanted to keep the house light and airy without being white. YES!!! I loved that the minute I saw the sample swatch... I continued reading chanting in my head "Brume, Brume, Brume"! Yes, please... pics!!! Re: Grey Paint 39Mar 01, 2012 2:40 pm Ok so mind all the kids toys on the floor but we havent got around to building any storage but here are some photos of Dulux Brume 1/4 strength on the walls. We wanted something light but not white and prefered grey. We have heaps of natural light and only sometimes I think it can be a bit cold looking but then most of the time I love it. Having said that I would prefer it to be a little cold looking as I am planning on adding heaps of more color in the bulkheads and some wallpaper than to throw brown or beige.
