I headed for the kitchen this morning to make breakfast, came round the corner and saw the room and it made me smile. Trinity Love it! Is that a 4 seater plus chaise lounge? Any chance you might share where it's from? Yes it is. It's from Oz Design, from their "Morgan" range. We happened to wander in there when they were having a 15% off sale just after Easter, so it was a very reasonable price. We did have to wait a few weeks for it to be made to order, but it was worth it. Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 27Jun 23, 2011 7:51 am I may have sourced the elusive chocolate leather ottoman ....I'll know for sure in a few hours. Still no sign of my lamps - they only had to come from Geelong, for goodness' sake! I did get my prints done earlier in the week though, and I'm thrilled with how well they turned out. One needs to be redone, because I buggered up the sizing and it ended up being cropped to fit. Oh well, at $1.50, it's not going to break the bank... All the prints are the same size, but I used mattes in a couple of larger frames for one pair. Bingo! Just won this on eBay for $45: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Beats paying $250-500, which is what furniture shops are asking.... I have to thank joles for spotting it and letting me know about it - and also for organising a friend of hers to pick it up from NSW and bring it down H1 peeps are SO lovely! Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 29Jun 23, 2011 11:48 am Fantastic pictures Kek - love the before and after shots what a difference - I bet you wished you hadn't waited so long now Worth the wait though and well done on the ottoman - they are expensive aren't they? Can't wait to see the finished result. For info on our build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43093 Built the McLaren by Dechellis - slab down 22 Feb - handover 30 Aug 2011 - and gardens finished 9 Dec 2012!! Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 30Jun 23, 2011 11:53 am Mclaren Fantastic pictures Kek - love the before and after shots what a difference - I bet you wished you hadn't waited so long now Worth the wait though and well done on the ottoman - they are expensive aren't they? Can't wait to see the finished result. Nope, I'm happy to have waited - we're conservative old buggers and don't like running up credit card debt, so we prefer to do things a bit at a time, as we can afford them. The driveway, front deck, flooring and blinds were #1 priority when we moved in, then there were a number of smaller things to do before the rather large landscaping project... It's all good. I'll have the lounge done rather more quickly - or at least to a point that I'm happy to live with until I can swap some temporary items for more permanent ones. I just got a text to say my lamps have arrived. Now I'll have to source some fabric to recover the shades. Hmm, wonder what I've got in my fabric stash...? Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 31Jun 23, 2011 12:10 pm Prints look fabo! Especially love the banksia with the matt surround. Tomorrow I'm making my new cushion covers. I may have a go at recovering the lampshade too, will see how my day pans out. Oh, and I picked up my new chairs for the lounge today. Another room to start decorating. Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 33Jun 25, 2011 9:07 pm Which means more photos for us! One lampshade done. It's harder than it looks. Not 100% happy with my efforts there - I think it may be relegated to the darkest corner of the lounge.... Still no progress on the lounge room, because it's full of surplus couches that my son is supposed to find a home for. (He wants them for when he moves out) So now I have boxes everywhere, extra lamps that I don't need and two bloody couches that need a new home. Looks like there will be couches stacked in the hall. Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 37Jun 27, 2011 8:41 am oh kek, the room looks gorgeous. You must be very clever to re-cover the lamps and what a bargain you got form ebay. When we were in Mill Park, if you put something on the nature strip, like your lounge, it would be gone within minutes When we were moving everything went out the front, we didn't have to worry about getting rid of it. I havn't seen anyone with anything out the front here and it would be the same where you are. I just love what you have done to your room, and the fact that you have picked up so many great bargains. Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 38Jun 27, 2011 9:16 am Awesome find with the ottoman! The prints look amazing against the background wall colours. Noice job Re: FINALLY decorating my family room 39Jun 28, 2011 6:57 am My to-do list for the family room has shrunk to the following: - Get the ottoman in place and find a suitable tray for it - Stain and refinish the side table/chest - Find the perfect TV unit - Get TV mounted on the wall and replace the clunky old speakers with something less obtrusive It might all be done by the end of the year, with any luck. I LOVE the couch! Last night three of us were watching TV together, and we could all stretch out and sprawl around with room to spare.
