Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 22, 2011 7:35 pm Hi all, This is my first time posting here but desperately need help!! Due to a flooding of an upstairs toilet we have to recarpet our whole house and re-do the floating floors. The house is currently painted in Dulux Grey Green with white trims and the floor we believe is Kempas. The carpet is also green as are the kitchen, bathroom & laundry benchtops. The tiles in the bathrooms and laundry & pantry are green also. Our issue is that we are having great difficulty matching the carpet colour and we aren't entirely sure we want to stick to green. We could change the carpets to a chocolate brown and have the walls a more neutral colour but we cannot afford to change the benchtops and floor tiles. I should mention also that the curtains in the master bedroom and formal lounge are also green and are quite good quality so we don't overly want to have to change these. The curtains in the kitchen are roman blinds and are a pattern of flowers so have lots of whites, greens, and browns already in them. I am totally at a loss as to where to even start - do we start with the carpets and then move to paint or vice versa. How do we know that the colours we like are going to work in with the green of the kitchen benches etc??? Any help at all greatly appreciated! Virgo1978 Re: Colour Help 2May 23, 2011 7:10 am I can only imagine how heart brakbreaking it must be for you to have to do this in your home. However you should be able to get carpet samples to bring home to match against your existing colours. Just the same way someone renovating would do. Re: Colour Help 3May 26, 2011 7:48 pm Hi Virgo……I work for Carpet Court in Nowra, and there was a flood at a sea side area just recently and many people have been in your position, very heart breaking. If I were you, I would look a neutral colour for your carpet, something along the lines of a Taupe. This colour will go with everything! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 Thank you @.
