Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 24May 28, 2011 7:57 am Im afraid its the old story for me I know what I dont want but I never know what I do want. When I first thought of glass I thought about red. I got a sample of red box but I found this to bright. I have been through the show me your splashback and my kitchen posts and there are some absolutely beutifull ones including yours suh. I could not find a red so decided to play it quite safe and go for white. Anyway I went and got a few more samples of red, deep garnet and sultry glance I tried them both last night but its too soon to tell. I had thought about the greys but wondered whether they would clash with the stone colour. I am so afraid of making the wrong choice. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 26May 28, 2011 11:04 am No there isnt but I will try and get someone to do it today. I was just looking at the greys and thought I would go and get some more sample pots. I was looking at Crust Tristan Dreyfus Bogart all dulux colours. Suh have you seen the colour of the bench top Urban. In my family room which the kitchen is part of I have a brown lounge suite and orange and brown scatter cushions and same shades in a rug. I have some dark pieces of furniture in there and I also have the dark brown mao stools for the kitchen from Freedom. I do like those earthy colours that is why I am drawn to the reds, but when you mentioned the greys I started to look at those. I also got a piece of glass it is the clear glass to give me a bit of an idea of the colour behind it. I dont want to match the bench top I would like something to compliment it , if that is the word I wold like the wow factor though. I know I do ask a lot but I am so nervous about choosing. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 27May 28, 2011 11:07 am Pearl great news that they are changing it for you. Bad news on the re-choosing your colour. It can be so hard to choose something that you will love with all your being. At least if you choose a dark-ish colour you won't have to panic about starfire compared to non-starfire. What about a dark orangey colour? Joles was looking at having orange a looooooong time ago and she posted some gorgeous colours. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 33May 28, 2011 11:42 am I got a sample pot of Sultry Red that is a orangey red. I didnt mind it the only thing is whatever colour I look at it seems to look different on all 3 walls and I only have about 5 or 6 sq mtrs. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 34May 28, 2011 11:48 am Ye thats it thanks girls I will try and post a picture I dont know how to but my son said he knows so will wait for him to get out of bed. Urban is a gey/brown colour so you would think teaming it with white cabinets and then choosing a glass would be quite easy. Thankyou for your help. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 35May 28, 2011 12:44 pm Here goes hope this works finally got some photos. Is that correct? What colour are your walls and flooring? Are they staying the same? I would assume your flooring is but what about the walls? Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 37May 28, 2011 12:53 pm Yes we would probably have to change the wall colour what do you think?. At the moment it is painted Light Rice half , through the kitchen/family . Maybe we could just change the kitchen end from the left hand side splash to the right of the pantry door. Yes the glass will only be either side of window and over the gas hob. The floor tiles are more of a bone colour. Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 38May 28, 2011 1:23 pm I think a deep red to match your fruit bowl and other red accents would look stunning with the rest of the colours you've got in your house, including the bench top Building an Eden Brae Saville 27 http://karry327.blogspot.com/ Building thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=44247 Re: Why is my white splashback sky blue 40May 28, 2011 9:23 pm Hi there. I would personally stick to the white with the starfire glass. Classy and no complications with your other finnishings. Get the splashback company (to come out) to confirm that starfire was not used? and get a sample of your requested colour with starfire glass. Really hope this all works out for you. I don't mind the blue tinge either by the way. I’m just in the process of replacing 2 stud walls that have been severely damaged by termites and am planning to use h2 blue pine. I just wanted to if anyone can advise… 0 51968 6 7972 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 13715 |
