Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 26, 2011 6:14 pm Hi all, We are trying to decide on our internal wall colour to paint throughout. We can only choose from the Solver Builders Palette. We just wanted a white with a little warmth and if any tint at all a grey base. Based on this we have selected First Snow. But now we are unsure what to do with the doors, architraves and skirtings. Our builder only does these in gloss and they have recommended the First Snow in double strength. I am unsure about this as I much prefer the look of a lighter skirting and architrave with a slightly darker wall. What do other people think or what do other people have? Am thinking perhaps we could have First Snow half strength (dont even know if they do this though) on skirtings, or perhaps double strength on the walls and single on the skirtings? Or would this just make the walls look dirty? Could we just have all First Snow on everything and just have the gloss on the skirtings?... Our other colour choices if it helps are Lustrous Elm and Gloss Warm White Kitchen, Charcoal and White Tile Bathrooms and Ensuite and Alabaster/Eggshell coloured gloss tiles (though are still looking for something with more grey base). Thanks in anticipation...! Re: Help with Internal Wall Colour - Solver 2Apr 26, 2011 10:03 pm Hi tuberrose, as you have discovered our walls are all first snow. The skirting are a 'gloss' first snow also, but they aren't really very shiny and don't stand out. I would check if your builder is doing a full gloss or semi gloss. Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7919 3 10195 Sorry, don't know costs, but there are a couple of very important principles you need to get right (and now) ....
