Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 23, 2011 11:18 pm Dad went out and bought enough paint to do our whole house the other day without consulting anyone!.. so we are stuck will a colour called "cream crest" by Taubmans. It is a cool light lemon yellow. I am able to lighten it by a shade by adding some pure white. The bedrooms will be carpeted and the rest of the house except the bathrooms and laundry will have unstained pine floorboards. The ceilings are white. We have an antique white leather lounge and furniture in various neutral/wood tones. I'm stuck for ideas of what colour scheme to pursue. Any suggestions most welcome Re: Help! What goes with lemon yellow walls?? 2Apr 23, 2011 11:21 pm A colour scheme that's popular overseas is lemon/grey/white. You can throw in a bit of black too. It looks fresh and modern without hitting you in the eyes. Do you think it might work for you? Judie Re: Help! Saw a photo of a retro 50s bathroom with light yellow walls, antique white & neutral tiles, white trims and dashes lighter than baby blue with silver light fittings and some dark brown wood trims..looked very modern. I was leaning towards off white architraves and warm grey/neutral carpets. Was thinking of maybe adding the odd silvery textured feature wall to break things up a bit and incorporate some grey into the colour scheme? Don't know what sort of lighting works for yellow walls though. Re: Help! What goes with lemon yellow walls?? 5Apr 24, 2011 12:19 am Agreed. I think yellow lookss great with white. Clean and fresh - like a lemon . For colour purples and mauves go really nicely - and I have seen a wall paper with yellow and ruby/maroon. It was relly beautiful. Goodluck. Will look awesome and striking - p.s do a mood board! kate http://loveneedhave.blogspot.com/ Re: Help! What goes with lemon yellow walls?? 9Apr 26, 2011 4:38 pm Lemoney yellow is a very clean look and the wooden floors with the wooden furniture sends me in a green direction. Dark woods, sunlit walls, cream couches and natural green, olive etc with lots of creamy white and matt gold as the accent colours. The greens and a touch of gold will bring the colours together, perhaps in the cushions or accessories. Hi guys, I want to do some floor levelling before laying the planks and am considering doing it with self-levelling or yellow tongue PB board. I am wondering which one… 0 6538 Render your bathroom walls, two opinions versus the one, makes you wonder. 3 6062 The spacing of the studs looks pretty large especially for a load bearing wall. 3 11117 |
