Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 19, 2011 6:55 pm I'm trying to work out what a good laminex colour for the cupboards in my ensuite below the basin. The feature tile in my ensuite will be this one. Other tiles will be glossy white porcelain. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Uploaded with ImageShack.us It has a textured wavy surface and will be laid horizontally just above the benchtop and below the mirror, and also on one wall of the shower recess. I think it makes sense to go with a white benchtop (white valencia) and then a cupboard door colour that compliments the feature tile. Any suggestions from either the laminex or formica range? Was thinking with something with a stripe pattern and getting them to put horizontally? Thanks in advance Re: Need help choosing which laminex ensuite cupboard colour 3Apr 19, 2011 7:42 pm Thanks to Laminex changing their website and protecting their products, I can no longer copy and past from the site. So that means no more pics of Laminex OR Formica. Interesting feature tile, I don’t think I’ve seen that one. Is it like a gold colour? Its hard to tell. The tile is called Silver Sea http://www.tilesdirect.net/mece.html though its more a coppery silver than a pure silver colour. Going off topic I use faststone capture which is a piece of software that allows you to do screen captures of any webpage regardless of wether websites have the annoying "can't right click and save picture" stuff built into their page. http://www.faststone.org/FSCaptureDetail.htm my work has a license for it rather than it costing me $20. Re: Need help choosing which laminex ensuite cupboard colour 5Apr 20, 2011 6:32 am I’m getting that! I don’t care if I have to pay for it that will be installed over the weekend! I don’t care if I have to pay for it that will be installed over the weekend! Thanks so much for the info……. You can still get an older version (I think about 2 years old of the Faststone Capture software that is freeware (ie. no cost) rather than the current 2011 version which is shareware (and which you would have to pay $20 if you want to use it after the 30 day trial period ends) Here's the link to the older version, probably lacking a few features that the current one has. http://www.portablefreeware.com/download.php?id=775 Re: Need help choosing which laminex ensuite cupboard colour 7Apr 20, 2011 2:00 pm What about espresso ligna, I think from memory there was a magagascar or something like this, you definately need something with a line going thru it and laid horizontal would look great. I went to my tile supplier to choose my splash back tile this morning on the way to work. Bingo, he had your feature tile there……very nice! Yes more of a bronze colour. Very unusual tile, it should look fantastic up. What colour floor tile are you having? Its a very glossly reflective tile. I think the espresso ligna is a bit too dark. Re: Need help choosing which laminex ensuite cupboard colour 11Apr 20, 2011 9:06 pm I'm going to go against the grain here.... I think your feature tile is gorgeous and I wouldn't do anything to detract from it. I'd do the vanity a plain block colour and let the tile be the star. SuH has a stunning bathroom and in the pic her laminex is the star. Everything else around it is a block colour so the fudgestream stands out. If it was me, I'd do that with your tile. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I totally agree with Jo, which is why I have been putting off giving you an answer. With such a lovely feature tile, if possible I would use a little more of it, and keep the rest of your selections plain. I think I'll have a look at a plainer non elaborate pattern colour for the cupboards. The feature tile will currently only be laid 1 tile high above the basin and then for the full height of the shower wall opposite the shower outlet. Hi Veefy, I’ve just bought that program, down loaded a free one at the same time. How will I receive the one I purchased? Veefy…..I can’t thank you enough for the link. I have been so worried about how I’m going to do my remote work without access to the blocked websites for colour!!!! The photo of the unit was taken before the door are aligned.
