I wanted basic neutral colours but there are so many to choose from! I was thinking a light grey/white colour for the living room/kitchen/dining with a darker grey feature wall in the lounge room. Its an older house and is on the small side, so I want to make it look bigger than it is! We were also going to have a purple feature wall in our bedroom (a dulux silk colour) but am unsure what colour to use on the other wall! Also... stupid question, do you paint the architraves, door frames, doors and skirting board the same colour as the wall? and do you paint the roof the same as the other walls or just a white colour? Who would of thought painting was so hard! I thought it would be easy until I got to Bunnings and looked at all the colours Any advice or guidance would be great! Thanks Jade If you want to make the rooms look spacious keep the trim the same colour ( in gloss) as the walls. You can keep the ceiling the same also if you wish or go for white. I will probably end up going with white, and maybe a grey feature wall for the main living area... maybe! I have seen a lot of greys used lately and it doesn't look too bad. But then you can never go wrong with white either lol Re: What do you find hard to do? 10Mar 27, 2011 8:22 pm Jadielee87 I was thinking a light grey/white colour for the living room/kitchen/dining with a darker grey feature wall in the lounge room. Jade To get an idea, if you can take photos, upload them to the Dulux website, and use their colour visualiser program. I use it HEAPS, as it gives you an idea of how the colours will look. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/mycolour.aspx Re: What do you find hard to do? 11Mar 27, 2011 8:51 pm Quote: We've used a dark grey on our family room walls (2 feature walls). It brings the room in and makes it feel cosier. So if you're after the appearance of more space, I wouldn't go too dark with your walls. So I think the purple will go well in there. I have been using the Dulux website, but was kind of iffy over it. Did you find that the colour's on the website are fairly similar to what they are in real life? Re: What do you find hard to do? 12Mar 27, 2011 9:25 pm I have been using that site for choosing my front render...it isn't very good as all the photos I've got are really sunny, so all the colours look really really light. I think it would work OK for internal pics tho. Could just be me ! The road to success is always under construction House completed April 2011 - slowly making it a home...
