Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 06, 2011 4:00 pm Hi all, I'm looking for some help in choosing my exterior colours. I'm looking for something fairly neutral and light but nothing that is going to look like it has hints of pink or yellow. I am facing north at the end of a T junction so will get quite a bit of light and don't want anything too glarely otherwise I may end up with a car in my front room. The builders requirements are that our front fence will look like this; Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ be rendered in Dulux Sandbank Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ with the infills in Anotec Dark Grey Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . So far I have chosen a Colorbond roof in Dune and am stuck with what other colours to choose. My builder uses Solver colours and I'm really stuck with what would work. Because you won't see much of the roof from the front, I was thinking of doing the gutters, fascia, downpipes in a colour similar to Dune (Colorbond Birch looks very similar). So what I need to choose is a render colour, contrasting render colour for front pier and colour for weatherboards. This is a photo of the lady down the road's house which my house design is based on. The small window to the left will actually be a sliding door into the kitchen for me (kitchen will be fairly white). I find her colours to be very dull and grey so looking for something a bit more exciting (if that even makes sense). What are the colours posted above for, is that the fence colours? Any help is very much appreciated so even if you don't get to me today that's ok. If I have crisp white weatherboards with a blueish-grey render and darker blue-green (almost like a teal colour) would that look ok? And would it work with Dune roof, gutter, fascia and downpipes? Window frames will be white. What do you think? You really need to work in with the fence as it will be seen also. Where is the Teal colour going? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Help needed with exterior colours please 6Mar 09, 2011 6:27 pm The teal would be on the two pillars either aide if the front door. I was only thinking blue to tie in with the fence infills as they appear to be a dark blue grey. Choosing colours on your own with no one to bounce ideas off is really hard so I'm very grateful for all your advice. How about instead of the teal, you use the sandbank on the 2 front posts of the enty? How about instead of the teal, you use the sandbank on the 2 front posts of the enty? It's probably because I really don't like the sandbank colour. What if I just planted hedges or some kind of plants in front of them so I can't see the sandbank? In all seriousness I think you are right though. Now that I love. I think I really like blues on a house as it reminds me of beach houses and that the house inside would be a calm/relaxing house. In my desperation to find a render colour pronto, I hope you can empathise as I implore you to please ask them on my behalf what they used. I am mad about greys, but going mad trying to source a neutral one for our render that does not have undertones of blue, green, pink or purple. I understand pictures can differ the colour as does lighting, however it is worth sourcing the names and brands of any that may be THE ONE! We are doing a Hamptons makeover of our home and so a soft pallette of grey to marry up with the vivid white windows would be lovely. I hope you get this message.
