I would like mine to all be white, but not sure which white to ask for??? What is the best "white" to use/ask for? Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 3Mar 01, 2011 10:30 am Mine are all Wattyl - new pale cream (same as our wall colour) Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 4Mar 01, 2011 10:33 am My contract just says 'White'...IMO you should never just let them put white, because whites these days can have blue, green, yellow tinges in them, so your perception of a nice white may be very different to that of the painter/builder. Turns out mine aren't too bad, just a bit flat looking. Go have a look at other new builders on this forum, there are a couple of popular whites you could have a look at. Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 9Mar 01, 2011 12:20 pm Our interior designer told us that unless you want to make a feature of the doors / architraves then they should be the same colour as the walls. Hence we painted them the same colour to create a seamless look. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 10Mar 01, 2011 12:33 pm We have antique white USA on all our walls. we used the same colour only in gloss for all the doors archs & skirtings. Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 12Mar 03, 2011 8:07 pm I like the idea of having feature doors, so my door, skirting etc colour is Wattyl - Stones Throw, which goes well with Wattyl- Kid Leather that we have on the walls. A very warm colour, I didn't want white as it would feel too cold to me. Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 13Mar 03, 2011 8:33 pm I have white (Just plain white, no tint) on all my woodwork. I love the look and the contrast between my walls. It's quite a traditional loook which I love and suits my home perfectly! I upgraded my doors to 2 panel and all my archs and skirts to a Heritage profile so they were already a feature anyway! Also did the same tint on the ceiling. Came up so beautiful. Gave a lovely warmth to the colour instead of the starkness of straight white. Will be using again definately. Re: What colour are your internal doors, architraves & skirt 16Mar 04, 2011 8:44 am We are having Taubmans Crisp White - you might want to check how many coats of paint they do as some paint requires 3 coats to get a nice solid white. My builder didn't offer any other whites to choose from in their colour range. It has a slightly grey tinge so we're going half strength and that makes it look pure white. There is nothing special about my doors to want to make them a feature- I just like the contrast between the white and the colour of the walls.
